DUTIES

The BDGD program prepares students to be skilled visual communicators and empathetic citizen of the world through experiential learning, shared community dialogue and skilled practice and technical development while questioning and self-reflecting on the role and responsibilities of a contemporary designer.

To teach the following BDGD course section, ARTG 261: Core Studio 7, which is scheduled for Wednesdays, 08:30-11:30 a.m., which includes preparation and delivery of lectures, demonstrations, assessment and evaluation of students, facilitation of student integration of theory and practice, and provision of student support. Applicants must demonstrate a solid understanding of photographic techniques, processes, and visual communication practices with emphasis on critical thinking, technical proficiency, and effective presentation.

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning and student success through scholarship and institutional service. Successful candidates will participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom, including student support; institutional, faculty and departmental committee meetings and other initiatives; and professional activities in keeping with their disciplines in and outside the institution

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master's degree in photography or closely related discipline from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of a Bachelor's degree and significant industry and/or peer recognized professional experience.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a thorough understanding of the professional skills required for photographic digital design including:

  • demonstrable experience and skills in studio work related to the profession;
  • proficiency in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop as it applies to this field, as well as the Mac operating system.
