Job Duties/About the Role

Annual salary: $70,000, plus benefits

As a Business Development Associate in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Consulting for middle-market private equity firms, family offices, corporate acquirers, and lenders to evaluate their existing deal sourcing processes, diagnose weaknesses in market coverage, and create custom solutions designed to increase access to new deal flow
  • Regularly speak with business owners, sell-side banking organizations, and financial and strategic sponsors that wish to exit or raise capital and are looking to connect with capital constituents outside of their existing network
  • Coordinate introductions for prospective clients with sources of deal flow and capital relevant to their immediate objectives
  • Identify new opportunities for business growth by developing sales & business development pipeline, market research, and proactive calling efforts utilizing numerous business research tools
  • Create and distribute marketing collateral alongside director of strategy to generate interest and new leads
  • Assist in the implementation of firm-wide initiatives designed to expand intermediary coverage, increase targeted deal flow, and subsequently source more relevant transaction opportunities
  • Collect investment information about companies and other investments using daily reports, economic forecasts, financial statements and other financial reports and publications
  • Examine and analyze financial and investment information collected, including profiles of companies, future trends, and other investment information
  • Prepare company, industry and economic outlooks, analytical reports, briefing notes and correspondence.
  • Plan short-term and long-term cash flows and assess financial performance
  • Analyze investment projects
  • Advise on and participate in the financial aspects of contracts

Skill/Education Requirements/About You

  • You are a self-starter, a quick learner, and are adept at turning high-level guidance into action-oriented plans
  • You are detail-oriented, and have fantastic organizational skills
  • You are incredibly hard-working and are excited to work with and learn from our strong team. You are not afraid to be pushed and know you can keep up
  • You have strong analytical skills and are comfortable with data
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and are a strong communicator across all mediums (e.g., phone, presentations, e-mail)
  • At least one year of relevant experience in business development and/or financial analysis
