Position Summary:

The Administrative Assistant provides day-to-day administrative support to the Vice President of Finance and the Vice President of Patient Services & Chief Nursing Executive, along with supporting others within Administration as required. This position is responsible for a variety of duties in the Administration Department including office and reception tasks, document management and project support. These tasks are carried out in accordance with GGH's values - Respect, Accountability, Compassion and Teamwork.

The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support while being responsible for coordinating their own body of work in a fast paced, dynamic and ever-changing environment. Excellent computer skills and knowledge, including advanced knowledge of Outlook calendar management, and creating and editing Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat documents are essential to the position.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities :

  • Successful completion of post-secondary education at either the college or university level
  • Minimum of three to five years senior level administrative experience, preferably in a health care setting
  • Experience using web-based document management portals
  • Demonstrated advanced skills and knowledge in Outlook calendar, management, creating and editing Word and Adobe Acrobat documents, preparing Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, demonstrating tact and diplomacy
  • Proven organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail

Ability to deal with multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
