About this Role
The Events Manager focuses on planning and executing on-site experiences for customer and corporate groups, including performances in our theaters, pre-show and post-show event sales and event management, and food and beverage packages. The best candidates will have experience creating memorable events while maintaining a sales quota and selling to Fortune 500 companies. This is a full-time exempt position. The ideal candidate for this position is available to work evenings and weekends on-site at The Second City Toronto.
Drive events sales on-site at The Second City
Primary focus is on optimizing the customer experience within our physical spaces and theaters while expanding our event-based revenue
This is a lead generation role, including outbound calling to prospects and receiving calls from the field, in addition to marketing leads
Uncover new leads and opportunities through prospecting to event planners, event management companies, and direct to corporations, non-profit organizations, and universities
Work closely with our on-site delivery and production team as well as our food and beverage partners to ensure that projects are delivered within scope and budget
Serve as the main on-site contact for any events occurring in the building
Network and make connections to relevant industry associations
Manage all phases of the sales lifecycle across a variety of sales scenarios, including new prospects, re-activations, and growth within existing accounts
Partner with Production, Sales, and Success Teams to customize client programs and solutions, ensuring that we deliver on our promises
Partner with Sales and Success Teams to strategize account growth for events within existing Second City clients.
The Right Candidate:
Has experience working within - and achieving - an events sales quota exceeding $1mm annually.
A general knowledge of Second City's full product portfolio to both consumers and corporations, with the ability to orchestrate large multifaceted event/experience-based deals
Primary influencer, specifically in the prospecting and qualifying phases of event sales cycles
Likes to work with a team in a shared office environment, as well as independently
Has the ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time
Is a self-starter who works well under pressure and in a constantly changing environment
Proficiency with Salesforce or similar online ticketing system
