Purpose:

To source, identify, interview, and assess candidate(s) to meet hiring requirements, as per the company business plan

Responsibilities:

Strategic:

  • Develop hiring strategies, for resource requirements, as per the business plan
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to build pipelines for potential applicants

Operational:

  • Identify with the hiring managers staffing needs in each department
  • Manage, and monitor, the hiring and advise the manager(s) of progress to date
  • Determine, with the hiring manager(s), the selection criteria for candidates - to include review the job description - confirm salary, as per approved budget, with the HR supervisor
  • Source applicants through online channels, such as ATS, including LinkedIn and other professional networks
  • Develop interview questions and hiring metrics to measure and reflect the requirements for each position
  • Assess candidates' resumes, portfolio, and references
  • Identify the most suitable talent from available candidates and send to the hiring manager for review
  • Establish and maintain an interview matrix for the hiring managers to complete - to be able to evaluate each candidate
  • Plan & organize the interview and selection process, including screening calls, assessments, and in-person interviews (when requested) - subsequently organize the personality assessment testing, and technical testing (when required) with the hiring manager. Send test results to the HR Supervisor and Manager for review
  • Organize and / or attend recruitment events to build a strong candidate pipeline
  • Track and maintain records of all recruitment documents in the HR data Base, including interview notes and related paperwork
  • Work with marketing department to enhance D&V visibility to the applicant community.

Education / experience:

  • Diploma in Human Resources Management,
  • Significant experience in hiring highly technical engineering talent
  • 7+ years of experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, in recruiting highly technical engineers and manufacturing professionals
  • Excellent experience working with the marketing team, to communicate in the community D&V talent and career opportunities
  • Excellent experience with social media, resume databases, and professional networks
  • Experience with full-cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS office - Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Experience in using Talent Solutions to proactively source candidates
  • Maintain a good understanding of the job requirement(s) for each role for hire i.e., engineering
  • Proficiency in documenting and maintaining the hiring processes
  • keeping up with industry trends on hiring techniques
