Part of the Marketing & Communications unit at the Centre for Continuing Education, the Marketing Assistant will report to the Marketing Manager and will work closely with the Digital Specialist (APT) and the Marketing & Communications Specialist (APT).


  • Create and edit various graphics and video/photos to create images/collateral for web, social media, print and online brochures, email, advertising and promotional material using Adobe Create Suite
  • Update CCE's websites using the University's content management system and contribute to overall site improvement (ie content audits)
  • Analyze student registration data, social media performance, survey data and other available data to support Marketing & Communication's evidence-based decisions
  • Create, proof and/or send emails including copy and graphics targeting current and prospective students, businesses or other stakeholders
  • Create and/or proof online advertising in platforms such as Google AdWords, Facebook or Instagram
  • Research social trends and contribute to the development CCE's social media calendar
  • Create social media organic posts (ie Instagram stories, articles for Linked In and posts on Facebook)
  • Monitor and respond to social media inquiries and engagement on all social channels
  • Organize and support content creation (photo/video shoots including logistics, on-site support; source or write articles or other content for social media or email)
  • Represent CCE units at recruitment and community events and assist with planning and implementation including set-up and take-down of booth/display, tracking inquiries, etc. (contingent on re-open SK, University policy and CCE events strategy)
  • Examples of other projects
  • Create process maps and assist with process improvement
  • Assist with set-up, maintenance and improvement of CCE's project management platform
  • Organize and support unit electronic files and assets (ie common network drive, photo/video assets)
  • Support other marketing & communications activities as required
  • Very flexible. Student may work remotely or at the College Avenue Campus. Must have access to personal computer to work remotely.
  • Position Requirements


  • Grade 12 plus some post-secondary education (minimum) relating to marketing and communications
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (in particular Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premiere Pro) and MS Office
  • Working knowledge or familiarity with project management software ( and process mapping software (Visio) would be an asset
  • High comfort level working in social media channels (Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn, in particular)
  • Strong writing and editing skills which may be applied to proofing or writing promotional copy, emails, articles, etc.
  • Creative development experience such as videography or photography would be an asset
  • Efficient organization skills and ability to prioritize and manage tasks with competing deadlines
  • Ability to thrive while working independently and as part of a team, both in-person and remote
  • Effectively analyze, report and communicate research findings
  • Strong active listening skills
  • Physical Demands Pay Grade CUPE Phase 3 Salary Range $21.04 - $25.25 per hour Status Casual Work Hours

Flexible work hours. Maximum 80 hours per month.
