The Sales and Marketing Manager will fuel the momentum our brands have gained in the Canadian market through managing the sell-in and sell-through for Fjällräven and Hanwag. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and ambitious brand ambassador that connects with our products and users.
The focus for this role is to ensure long-term and sustainable growth for our organization in the outdoor and premium apparel industry. With a solid background and genuine excitement for marketing and sales, this person will feel confident in sharing their knowledge and expertise with colleagues and clients. That said, we are looking for a continuous learner and humble leader that doesn't mind adjusting their own processes to make sure the team succeeds.
This is a full-time position based in either Labelle, Quebec or Vancouver, British Columbia. You'll report to the Director of Sales for Fjällräven and Hanwag North America.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Manage sell-in and sell-through for Fjällräven apparel, packs and bags and Hanwag footwear across all active channels
Build a marketing plan that aligns with the US marketing initiatives and promotes consistent, premium messaging
Get strategic through the development of distribution and marketing plans that maximize our exposure and strengthen our position in the market
Set and achieve ambitious monthly, quarterly and annual sales plans
Take flight with a truly international organization, travel to the US, Sweden and other European countries to share and learn from colleagues around the world
Implement campaigns that match the market requirements
Contribute to our annual unit and gross-profit plans through the implementation of great marketing and go-to-market plans
Identify and analyze outdoor trends and opportunities in the market
Communicate and execute sales strategy using frequent, clear communication to the sales team internally and back to our US HQ
Conduct sales meetings and coordinate trade show attendance
Establish sales objectives for our three regions through forecasting ad developing sales quotas
Forecast expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products
Set wholesale pricing in collaboration with our HQ
Communicates shortfalls within revenue projection to USA Management upon receipt.
Offer firsthand market knowledge through frequent, clear and consistent sales team and customer communication
Build our sales force through coaching, guidance and development of our employees with a goal of being the best-in-class for the Canadian market; set annual performance goals and follow-up with performance appraisals and annual reviews
Touch base weekly with the US Director of Specialty Sales and provide bi-weekly and monthly sales and shipping reviews
WHO YOU ARE
You have a passion for selling and marketing premium apparel and footwear brands
Proven track record of sales success in the Canadian market within the outdoor or a complimentary industry and distribution channel
You've had hands-on experience developing a sales organization, developing a marketing message and delivering results
You can point to several experiences meeting and even exceeding revenue goals
You can zoom in and zoom out when it comes to business and sales strategy; your decisions always reflect the big picture vision and direction
Negotiation comes naturally and you have honed in on the ability to do so effectively within the greater parameters of the HQ while still capitalizing on the local market you serve
You've had experience targeting, opening, sustaining and growing retail accounts
Building relationships and rapport through collaboration and moving a team towards success is a part of what makes you tick and thrive in the workplace
