Job Summary

We are looking for a documentation lead person to lead a small team of talented writers and also act as an individual contributor for updating content. This content includes user guides, installation guides, booklets, release notes, and more. This position is located in Mountain View, CA, though qualified remote candidates are also encouraged to apply

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead a small team of writers while also contributing to documentation for H2O products, including Driverless AI, H2O-3, Model Ops, Q, Enterprise Steam, and Puddle
  • Maintain the site and the documentation Confluence pages
  • Prioritize and assign documentation tasks across multiple products
  • Work closely with Data Scientists, Engineering, and QA for creating and reviewing documentation
  • Continue to find new ways to improve the documentation

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Communications, or similar
  • 5+ years as a technical writer
  • 3+ years in a leadership role leading/managing writers
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Able to adapt to changing documentation requirements and deadlines
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Experience with reStructuredText or Markdown-based documentation systems
  • Experience working with GitHub or similar distributed version control systems

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Sphinx and Sphinx extensions
  • Experience with LaTeX
  • Experience with machine learning software
  • Experience writing examples for programming languages such as Python, R, Java, and/or Scala.
  • Experience running Jupyter Notebooks
  • Experience creating animated gifs
