Location: Hybrid (1-2 days/week in-person at 64 Hurontario St, Collingwood)

Position Type: 25-40 hours contract per week (weekly requirement may adjust to candidate, skill set and compensation rate)

About Us : The Escarpment Corridor Alliance is a registered charity founded in 2022 that focuses on conservation advocacy. Our mission is to protect the Niagara Escarpment and nature in South Georgian Bay. Our vision is to create a protected ecological corridor network across the escarpment in South Georgian Bay from Creemore/Clearview to The Blue Mountains, to the Beaver Valley.

Job Description : We are seeking a values-driven, motivated and experienced Communications Manager to join our team. This mid-level role involves developing and leading our communications and marketing strategies to enhance our visibility and impact. The ideal candidate will be passionate about environmental issues and skilled in various communication platforms. Preference will be given to candidates who live at least part-time in the South Georgian Bay area and have a personal understanding of the regional community.

Key Responsibilities:

? Develop, implement, and evaluate the annual communications plan across the network's audiences in collaboration with the organization's team and constituents.

? Lead the generation of online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action. Decide who, where, and when to disseminate.

? Put communications vehicles in place to create momentum and awareness as well as to test the effectiveness of communications activities.

? Manage a comprehensive social media portfolio. Some content creation may be outsourced and the Executive Director will give some topic/content guidance, however scheduling and planning is a critical component of the role.

? Manage the development, distribution, and maintenance of all print and electronic collateral including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, and the website.

? Oversee the creation of assets such as infographics.

? Coordinate webpage maintenance-ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly.

? Manage a modest advertising budget and implement across all mediums.

? Track and measure the level of engagement within the network over time.

? Manage all media contacts and act as the primary media contact.

? Support the Executive Director with communications related to fundraising.

? Work with the Executive Director and the volunteer Communications Committee to develop and implement strategic communication plans to enhance the organization's visibility and influence.

Qualifications:

? Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.

? Minimum of three years of experience in a communications role, preferably in a non-profit or advocacy setting.

? Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities.

? Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and personal sales skills.

? Experience with audience segmentation on digital platforms (ie. MailChimp).

? Experience developing and managing budgets.

? Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, writing articles and advertorial, making presentations, and negotiating with the media.

? Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.

? High digital fluency, experience in Canva, MailChimp and WordPress are assets.

? Basic graphic design skills an asset.

? Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.

? Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.

Compensation:

The ECA offers competitive compensation, commensurate with a mid-level communications professional. The range for this role is $55,000-$70,000 full-time equivalent. Compensation will differ pending skill sets and agreed upon weekly hours.
