Overview: The Downtown Georgetown BIA is seeking a dynamic and organized individual to join our team as a Marketing and Administrative Assistant. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the BIA's marketing efforts, assisting with event coordination, managing office administrative tasks, and providing excellent customer service by answering emails and phone calls.

Job Type: Part-time (4 days a week, 20 hours per week) 6 month contract with possibility to become part-time permanent

Pay rate: $26/Hour

Responsibilities:

Social Media Management:

- Collaborate with the BIA manager to create content calendars and develop engaging content for various social media platforms.

- Schedule and publish posts to ensure consistent and timely content delivery.

- Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and respond to inquiries or comments.

Event Support:

- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of BIA events, including festivals, markets, and promotional activities.

- Coordinate volunteers and summer students, communicate with vendors, and setup/takedown arrangements.

- Provide on-site support during events to ensure smooth operations and attendee satisfaction.

Office Administration:

- Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and organizing documents.

- Maintain office supplies inventory and reorder as needed.

- Assist in scheduling meetings, appointments, and managing calendars.

Email and Phone Communication:

- Respond to emails and phone calls promptly and professionally, addressing inquiries, providing information, or directing queries to the appropriate personnel.

- Maintain a courteous and helpful demeanor when interacting with stakeholders, business owners, and community members.

Additional Requirements:

- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends, particularly during events and peak market periods.

Qualifications:

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Proficiency in social media platforms and content management tools.

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.

- Familiarity with the Georgetown community and its businesses is an asset.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
