TransCanada Turbines (TCT) is the sole authorized overhaul, repair and maintenance service provider for Siemens Energy and General Electric (GE) aeroderivative industrial gas turbines, serving an expanding international client base.

This newly created position will partner in a collaborative manner to support full cycle recruiting activities for our unique industry. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will help source, identify, screen, and hire candidates for various positions within TCT. They will actively tackle hard to fill roles that are unique to our industry. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, coupled five plus years of experience in talent acquisition, proficiency with applicant tracking systems (UKG), and an ability to devise sourcing strategies for potential applicants. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills and will thrive in a dynamic working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with hiring managers to identify, attract and hire talent.
  • Build a talent pipeline strategy to work through hard to fill positions.
  • Build and execute a plan to develop a Trainee Program in partnership with the business and community by attending job fairs, high school fairs and career fairs.
  • Ensure that staffing needs are being met with a long-term strategy in mind.
  • Form close working relationships with hiring managers to ensure clear expectations.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and candidate selection criteria.
  • Source applicants through online channels, such as LinkedIn and other professional networks.
  • Create job descriptions and interview questions that reflect the requirements for each position.
  • Compile lists of most-suitable candidates by assessing their CVs, portfolios, and references
  • Work in a collaborative manner to develop strategies to recruit talent, the ability to thrive on scouting talent for a variety of different positions .
  • Works with business leaders to identify, develop and implement recruiting strategies.
  • Other duties as directed by the Senior Manager, Human Resources.

Qualifications & Company Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a talent acquisition or similar role.
  • Experience in full-cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods.
  • Knowledge of applicant tracking system (UKG) is an asset but not required.
  • Proficiency with social media, CV databases, and professional networks.
  • Experience in using LinkedIn Talent Solutions and Indeed to proactively source candidates.
  • Proficiency in keeping up with industry trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Criminal background check is required.
