Know History is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Business Marketing Associate to support our Department of Outreach & Partnership. This position will work to develop, deliver, and assess various strategic growth and outreach strategies.

A successful candidate can research market trends, write engaging copy, provide creative ideas, and effectively track and action a variety of administrative tasks. They can work independently to move initiatives forward and collaboratively to design large campaigns and projects.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conducting comprehensive market research and networking to identify trends, opportunities, and potential clients.
  • Assist in the preparation of strategic plans and forecasts for management review.
  • Assist with the planning, execution, and analysis of outreach initiatives from marketing campaigns to in-person workshops and conference sponsorships.
  • Administrative tasks associated with event planning, outreach tracking, conference sponsorships, and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions for clients.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities.
  • Implement and monitor activities of Strategic plans.
  • Responsible for documenting client meetings, feedback forms and reports
  • Support the writing and submission of proposals and contracts
  • Preparing, formatting and editing a range of documents
  • Support the creation of marketing materials (website, service sheets, and other outreach assets).

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Effective writing skills, specifically for a public audience
  • 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in business development within a service environment.
  • Experience with market research and strategic planning
  • Understanding of basic business and marketing concepts
  • Attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Creativity
  • A passion for history and humanities
  • Self-directed self-motivated

Position Details

Hours: Full time with flexible hours, or four-day week
Compensation: Based on experience, with paid vacation, paid sick leave, and health and dental benefits
Location: Calgary or Ottawa office, with the option to work remote part time
Travel Required: At times
Other: State-of-the-art equipment provided (e.g., laptop, dual monitor, peripherals)
