If this sounds exciting to you, we are currently looking to add a Talent Acquisition Advisor to support our team in Ottawa. This position will be responsible for internal and external hiring as well as internal employee movements. The successful candidate will also provide consultative services on internal and external management and unionized staffing processes.

In this role you will:

  • Provide guidance to hiring teams and leaders during the full-cycle recruitment process to ensure an excellent candidate experience.
  • Provide value-added recruiting related advice to hiring managers and influence talent decisions, challenging hiring leads to hire the top talent.
  • Conduct high volume recruitment activities to source top talent for various departments.
  • Conduct needs assessments and implement recruitment strategies that include development of a talent acquisition pipeline in order to respond to both short and long term hiring needs.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with NAV CANADA management and provide ongoing support to achieve the operational objectives while respecting the terms of the collective agreements and the Canada Labour Code, and other employment legislation.
  • Direct clients in recruitment techniques, selection criteria and placement processes, and review and assess the acceptability of employment procedures and practices.
  • Develop innovative and efficient means of recruiting well qualified, productive employees in a competitive job market
  • Support and maintain recruitment metrics and recording recruitment activities.
  • Participate in external networking events, professional associations and career fairs to promote the NAV CANADA brand.
  • Ensure staffing actions are accurately reflected in HR system on a timely and accurate manner.

What you bring:

  • Post secondary education in Human Resources or in a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Advisor or HR Generalist with a proven ability to multi-task and prioritize a high requisition load within a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment
  • Experience using an enterprise-scale Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with hiring managers to understand their business needs and collaborate on innovative recruitment solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency using the MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Bilingual (English and French)

Working Conditions:

  • This position is based at the Ottawa Head Office but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
