MANAGER, EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, award-winning team at the global corporate headquarters of one the world’s most iconic luxury hospitality brands. We are looking for a seasoned, highly skilled and motivated Manager, External Communications and Performance Management to join our team.

As the Manager, External Communications and Performance Management you will be a pivotal driver of team operations across the PR, Social Media, and Corporate Communications (PRSM) global Centre of Excellence (COE). Your role will encompass not only driving performance outputs and seamless coordination but also helping to develop integrated PRSM tools and resources to empower colleagues around the world.

The ideal candidate must have a strong background in communications and demonstrate an understanding of working as part of a matrixed Commercial organization. You will be agile, results oriented, organized and a self-starter who can see one step ahead and ensure a coordinated approach across the COE. You will act as the key facilitator, ensuring teams and agency partners are aligned with overall objectives and work cohesively to achieve outstanding results that support key KPIs and metrics. Your expertise in communications and project management will be essential in optimizing the PRSM COE’s performance and efficiency across global and regional initiatives.

With a focus on developing performance plans, you will work closely with PRSM functional leads on implementing, managing, monitoring and communicating performance targets to key internal stakeholders.

This role requires an innovative and collaborative project manager who excels in connecting the dots across multiple initiatives to optimize the team’s performance. Above all else you must be a natural communicator, someone who builds relationships and earns trust easily and has a track-record to prove it.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

Performance Management

  • Responsible for supporting the team in operationalizing integrated performance management data, helping to enable Share of Voice, organic social media engagement, influencer engagement and thought-leadership performance to meet Commercial and organizational goals.
  • Lead the PRSM COE approach to measurement and evaluation across initiatives with a focus on the creation of a performance dashboard for impact and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement team-wide performance metrics to measure the success of the integrated team's internal communications efforts with the broader PRD/DOM community.
  • Regularly analyze performance data and work with functional and regional leads to identify actionable insights to enhance strategies and achieve better outcomes.
  • Identify areas for improvement for operations, tools, reporting templates and communication and work collaboratively with team members to address challenges and optimize performance.
  • Monitor PRSM industry trends and best practices to drive innovation and elevate the team's performance standards.

Project Management

  • Act as the central point of contact for the integrated team, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration between team members.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners, to align efforts and deliver integrated PRSM campaigns.
  • Develop and manage project timelines, track progress and work with agency partners as needed, ensuring all deliverables are met within set deadlines.
  • Proactively identify potential bottlenecks and provide solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate regular team meetings and progress updates to keep all team members informed and engaged.
  • Ensure seamless communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams.

Resource Development and Distribution

  • Support PRSM COE in creating comprehensive tools and resources that empower properties to effectively implement global PRSM strategies and drive results.
  • Support PRSM functional leads in developing resources, guidelines, and templates to ensure consistent and high-quality PRSM communications across the organization.
  • Distribute resources and organize knowledge-sharing sessions to foster a culture of collaboration and PRSM knowledge exchange across property and corporate team.
  • Regularly review The Hub (internal PRSM portal) and ensure all materials are up-to-date and meeting the needs of all stakeholders.

Team Enablement

  • Prepare for priority meetings, coordinating across teams to develop materials, including agendas, talking points, and presentations.
  • Organize PRSM COE meetings and webinars.
  • Organize planning meetings and offsites, including setting an agenda and overseeing follow-up on agreed action items. 
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture, promoting open communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify opportunities for professional development and skill enhancement within the team.

Presentation Development

  • Leverage expertise in slide and presentation development to create impactful materials.
  • Develop visually engaging presentations that effectively communicate complex concepts.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align content and messaging with strategic objectives

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years progressive experience in PR, communications, and social media marketing; experience within an agency or management consultancy is an asset
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully coordinating and delivering complex projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Demonstrated expertise in performance management and driving results.
  • Exceptional Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience working in a matrix organization.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in PR, Social Media, and Corporate Communications best practices.
  • Collaborative and clear communication skills with the ability to build relationships across levels and teams; interest in building a strong teamwork culture and executing projects to completion.
  • Strong judgment for problem solving, asks thoughtful and tough questions, including anticipated questions from executives or audiences.
  • Excellent organizational skills across multiple work streams/disciplines with the ability to plan and anticipate deadlines and deliverables while coordinating with various team members to close out tasks/projects.
  • Demonstrated track record balancing conflicting and pressing demands.
  • Ability to think critically and evaluate best possible solutions and procedures.
  • Able to work independently, solve problems, take initiative, and use good judgment.
  • Demonstrated and exceptional leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated strategic management skills.
  • Broad range of expertise and/or understanding across strategic communications disciplines including public relations, communications, social media marketing, influencer and media relations.
  • Relevant luxury hospitality and/or goods and services experience; understanding of international luxury markets and consumers is an asset.
  • Budget management skills.
  • Excellent project management skills: able to conceive and implement projects from start to finish, manage processes and expectations, and build commitment to deadlines.
  • Well-organized, able to set priorities and detail- oriented.

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong computer skills in a PC environment, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint). Exceptional presentation building skills and adept at learning new applications.
  • Excellent knowledge of social media channels including Facebook, Twitter (X), YouTube and Instagram. Awareness of emerging and regional social media channels and trends.
  • Familiarity with PR and social media metrics and analytics; familiarity or willingness to learn social media management tools and platforms.

This role will be a Hybrid working model, which will require 3 days per week in the Four Seasons Corporate Office located at 1165 Leslie Street, Toronto, Ontario #LI-Hybrid
