Position: HR Manager, People and Culture

Our client, a leader in the construction industry, is seeking an HR Manager, People and Culture to lead their Ontario team for a 13-15-month maternity leave contract. Reporting to the VP, People and Culture, you will be responsible driving strategic HR projects, promoting a positive workplace culture, and collaborating with the Montreal People & Culture team. This role requires a seasoned professional with a solid background in HR, and a passion for fostering a positive work culture!

Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Lead and manage impactful People & Culture projects and initiative and ensuring they align with organizational goals.
- Work with department heads to identify needs and implement solutions.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Mentor and guide team members, promoting a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Conduct performance evaluations and support professional growth.
Coaching and Partnering with Leaders:
- Build strong relationships with business leaders to deliver key HR initiatives.
- Provide coaching to leaders on a variety of People and Culture topics: performance management, employee relations, talent management, attraction and retention strategies.
- Partner with leadership teams to proactively provide solutions and implement strategies to ensure smooth people operations.
Talent Acquisition and Retention:
- Develop and streamline recruitment strategies with hiring managers.
- Partner with external agencies for hard-to-fill roles.
- Implement initiatives to boost employee engagement and retention.
Performance Management:
- Oversee performance management processes, including goal setting and feedback.
- Assist managers in addressing performance gaps and developing improvement plans.
Annual Compensation Process:
- Lead the compensation review process, including benchmarking and budget planning.
- Ensure competitive and equitable compensation strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Communicate compensation policies and monitor their effectiveness.
HR Policy Development and Implementation:
- Update HR policies to meet legal standards and organizational needs.
- Ensure fair application of policies and address any inconsistencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or a related field; HR designation preferred.
- 8+ years of HR experience, including 2+ years in a manager role.
- Strong relationship-building skills across all organizational levels.
- Proven success in managing HR projects and initiatives.
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Deep knowledge of recruitment, and employment laws and best practices.
