REASON FOR THE POSITION

Mondou has more than 1,000 employees working in more than 86 sites across Quebec. It is also the largest retail chain of pet products in the province. Since 1938, we have been offering products, services and advice for the well-being and health of animals, all with a personalized approach. Thanks to our rigorous and ongoing internal training, each employee develops in-depth knowledge of the products offered in stores.Having a fervent passion for animals, Mondou strives day after day to offer an excellent experience to its customers, providing informed advice on all of their pet's needs. Reporting to the Manager, Category Management, the plano and merchandising specialist strives to plan, coordinate, organize and communicate all activities relating to planograms, layout and merchandising across the network. It therefore maximizes the use of space according to categories and participates in the process of opening and continuous improvement of stores. He is responsible for producing various reports/analyses and coordinating certain activities in order to maximize the success of the merchandising and category management team's initiatives. 

KEY ACTIVITIES

  • Develop planograms considering factors such as space utilization, sales rate, product velocity, inventory levels, customer ease of purchase, display, signage and other special instructions ;
  • Execute strategies for new launches and innovations;
  • Maintain planograms and databases up to date for all stores;
  • Standardize planograms;
  • Plan and analyze how changes to planograms will affect store operations and the number of targeted stores;
  • Ensure that the layout (for equipment, displays) are aware of changes to the planogram;
  • Be indirectly responsible for ROI and other sales-related metrics;
  • Work closely with the purchasing and allocations team to respect the in-store product placement vision and ensure presentation parameters (min-max) are respected
  • Perform other related duties.

PROFILE:

  • Have 3 to 5 years of experience in space planning, planograms, category management, merchandising, operations and/or marketing in retail;
  • BAC in a related discipline and/or relevant professional experience;
  • Be results-oriented, involving quality work and service;
  • Be proactive, creative and innovative;
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills;
  • Experienced priority management;
  • Developed business acumen and strong influence capacity;
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize;
  • Adaptability and flexibility;
  • Own a car;
  • Bilingualism (French and English) oral and written essential.
