Overview

High-visibility position that will manage sales and customer relationships within Western Canada to achieve revenue and profit growth goals. The District Sales Manager (DSM) will have new business development responsibility and account management for the customers within the territory. In the account management of aspect of the role the DSM will have complete ownership and responsibility for the customers, providing them with a strategic, proactive, consultative approach throughout their organization. Engagement will take place at all levels with the customer base, including but not limited to sales, service, management, and ownership. This role is pivotal in the overall success of Meritor's Canadian Aftermarket sales team.

Dimensions: Sales: $10-$25 million.

Accounts: Warehouse Distributors, Independents, OEM Dealers and Regional Fleets

Job Responsibilities :

  • Maintain and develop a sales relationship between Meritor Aftermarket and customer base
  • Coordinate communication between Meritor and the customer base in its entirety
  • Develop, implement, and administer strategies for key accounts
  • Maintain CRM with current customer information, including customer contacts, current business, potential business and opportunities.
  • Adherence to the Meritor sales process
  • Work with internal departments to develop programs and track performance against objectives
  • Provide monthly account management business updates
  • Implement AOP (Annual Operating Plan) strategies to achieve sales, activity and profit goals
  • Work with Directors, OEM Account Managers, Independent Account Managers, District Sales Managers and Fleet Account Managers to coordinate field activity and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Deliver a high level of customer service for all customers and Meritor employees in other departments
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Meritor internal staff
  • Provide one-on-one, as well as group presentations and training both in-person and virtual

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years industry experience or High School Diploma plus 5 years industry experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with CRM data input and opportunity tracking (Salesforce)
  • In-depth knowledge of channels of distribution and fleet end-user needs
  • Familiarity with all competitors' products, policies, and programs
  • Working knowledge of competitive heavy vehicle / commercial vehicle products
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate from idea design through project implementation
  • Very strong sales consulting skills and very strong closing skills
  • Must be able to execute to new business sales objectives and account management goals
  • Technical background and familiarity with Meritor products
  • Develops and provides on-going strategic recommendations
  • Must have very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Very strong consulting skills to position and sell Meritor products
  • Solid listening skills and can effectively translate what they have heard into action items and follow up
  • Very strong presentation skills, both in-person and virtual
  • Very strong demonstrated oral and written communication
  • Exhibits strong time management and organizational skills
