Job Description

The Internal Communications Manager oversees internal communications content, events and projects to further our goal of delivering high quality, impactful and timely communications across the organization. This includes working closely with executives and leaders, developing well-defined plans and managing day-to-day communications to help the department and the organization achieve its strategic objectives.

What you'll be doing:

Communications strategy

  • Creating and implementing an overarching internal communications strategy to further Central 1's strategic priorities
  • Counseling and advising internal clients on specific communication strategies to accomplish specific objectives
  • Ensuring organizational initiatives, projects, and internal communications are aligned to C1's overall vision and corporate strategy
  • Implementing and advising on internal aspects of communications plans
  • Handling the internal communication response to crisis situations that affect organizational perception and reputation

Planning and implementation

  • Developing a variety of high-quality, impactful communications including plans, presentations, scripts, key message documents, and intranet newsfeed copy that are relevant and timely to support execution of company-wide programs
  • Planing, promoting and managing employee events including All Employee Update meetings, Leadership Meetings, Insight Sessions, Digital and Payments Town Halls
  • Ensuring internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and aligned to external communication messages
  • Storyboarding or translating ideas to the creative team of art directors and designers

Culture & Engagement

  • Working to ensure internal communications reinforce engagement and culture transformation
  • Participating and providing communications advice to Organizational Health and Agility squad
  • Creating, analyzing and ensuring relevance of organizational surveys including Pulse Survey, Client Delivery Survey, Agility Health survey and ad-hoc requests.
  • Contributing to a positive culture


  • Creating and supporting opportunities for employee feedback, dialogue and listening through pulse checks, intel meetings, focus groups, surveys, employee online forum and informal channels
  • Facilitating and assisting employees in determining internal channels and on using collaboration tools such as Slack and Microsoft Teams
  • Developing relationships across departments to ensure employees receive relevant and up-to-date info

Operational improvements

  • Documenting and updating departmental processes
  • Managing ongoing improvements to C1's intranet
  • Analyzing communication and engagement metrics to glean insights that help with planning internal communications and projects and address issues and opportunities that impact employees
  • Responding to feedback from employees and adjust communications content accordingly
  • Staying abreast of new and developing communication trends and implements practices to improve the user experience


What you'll have:

  • University or college degree in communications, journalism, marketing and/or public relations
  • Team player attitude with ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage working relationships with key internal stakeholders and business units
  • Efficient problem solving, strategic thinking, planning, research and measurement skills
  • The ability to make sound decisions aligned to the business strategy
  • Ability to influence others in a collaborative manner, drive a project to completion and support the business in communication content and delivery methods
  • Excellent written and oral communication in a variety of formats
  • Superior editing ability in a corporate environment for a variety of audiences
  • Ability to assess risk and elevate to the Head of Communicaitons on case-by-case basis
  • Self-starter who is flexible and open to changing priorities and managing multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed timeframes and high client expectations
  • Creative and innovative thinker with a strong track record of developing credible ideas for content
  • Implements various communication approaches (e.g. intranet articles, web casts, print media, etc.) to create effective messaging to a variety of audiences to best meet the needs of the organization and its members
  • Technology literate with an ability to quickly understand new technologies and communications vehicles
  • Confident, open, adaptable, discreet, organized, high energy and takes pride in their work
