JOB SUMMARY:

THE POSITION

The Director of Marketing will report to the General Manager and work in close collaboration with the Director of Business Development to generate leads, opportunities and revenue with new prospects and existing customers. The successful candidate will define, create and manage marketing strategy, campaigns, tradeshows, advertising, and more. Writing, graphic design, innovation and creativity are critical components of this position. In addition, the position requires exceptional verbal communication skills as well as the ability to learn and think on your feet.

THE PERSON

The successful candidate is an experienced, talented, self-directed and self-motivated individual with a broad range of marketing skills who can establish the marketing department from the ground up, and is willing to roll up her/his sleeves to do whatever is needed. The candidate will need to be highly skilled in marketing content creation in a variety of mediums, and be a resourceful, self-starter. The candidate must be organized and detail oriented with effective project management skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute an annual marketing plan including goals, strategies, research, campaigns, budget and other activities as necessary.
  • Establish and build inbound and outbound marketing strategies and develop content to increase the sales pipeline, nurture leads, increase marketing qualified leads and ultimately drive sales growth.
  • Research, write and design clear and compelling marketing content for various channels, including but not limited to website content, product literature, case studies, newsletters, emails, etc.
  • Direct the use of marketing tools including Google Analytics, CRM system, SEO program, Marketing Automation, and others.
  • Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs)
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, professional services, and client support team members to deliver consistent messaging and branding across all activities and departments

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Journalism, or other relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of experience in a Marketing department
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Creative thinker with solid graphic design skills and proficient with Adobe CS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel
  • Entrepreneurial spirit that is passionate about growing the business within a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work well independently and with a team

ASSETS

  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with video editing software
  • Knowledge of web design, and basic HTML
  • Marketo, Hubspot or other marketing automation experience
  • SalesForce.com or other CRM experience
  • Familiar with Challenger Commercial Insight concepts
  • Tech savvy with experience in technology industry
  • Experience in the non-profit industry, or a United Way organization

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • A portfolio of work will be required and applicants may be asked to complete a small assignment as part of the interview process
