The Business Consultant is responsible for achieving key business objectives that have been defined for the territory (volume and revenue growth, improvement in product mix, etc.). The Sales Consultant will develop and maintain excellent professional relationships with existing and potential customers. The Sales Consultant is required to analyze regional competitive factors and thereby define action plans and recommend strategies to ensure continued territory growth.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Visit existing customers and maintain strong business relationships with them (as defined by their priorities);
  • Identify potential new customers and establish strong business relationships with them;
  • Negotiate commercial agreements with customers;
  • Review commercial agreements with customers annually, ensuring terms (price vs. volume) are respected;
  • Implement business development programs with customers to motivate growth (BDF $);
  • Facilitate training seminars for customers on both product and practice management topics;
  • Attend Eye Care Professionals' trade shows, continuing education events, symposiums and congresses;
  • Promote new products and promotional programs as developed by Marketing;
  • Promote, deploy and train on current dispensing sales tools (POP/POS);
  • Analyze sales reports (SSDB, SalesForce.com) monitoring development of new products and take corrective actions as appropriate;
  • Analyze competitive factors, recommending and implementing corrective actions as appropriate;
  • Complete sales activity reports (SalesForce.com) on a daily basis;
  • Develop and execute detailed territory plans, buying group, customers and product level;
  • Increase the ESSILOR Lab Group sales (units & net revenues) within the territory;
  • Continually identify opportunities for improvement that will contribute to market retention and market growth;
  • Position will require travel, in some cases overnight and on weekends.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • College or University Degree in Business, Optics or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in sales, in the optical industry an asset
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Optical knowledge, an asset
  • Strong organizational, territory, time management and customer follow-up skills;
  • Must be able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
  • English spoken and written
  • French an asset
