Translator, Marketing & Communications

Lifemark Health Group is seeking an experienced Translator to join our marketing and communications team. As a French (French Canadian language proficiency) translator, you will be responsible for the accurate interpretation and translation of external and internal content for consumer and business audiences. You possess a solid understanding of the French Canadian market and are able to translate English copy so it reflects the proper sentiment and meaning for this regional audience. Your collaborative nature has you working closely with Clinic Operations, HR and Business Development teams to prepare compelling material in support of business and brand objectives.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate English digital content (including blogs, web copy, ads, emails, and newsletters), print material (including signage, brochures and flyers), and internal communications (including corporate communications, training documents, and process guidelines) into French
  • Proofread and edit translations from other business segments for conciseness, clarity, and tone, using brand standards as a guide
  • Translate rush messages on a priority basis
  • Create social media copy for our Quebec brand and provide copywriting support, as required
  • Develop and maintain translation processes, methodology and standards with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Establish a translation terminology database and make recommendations to minimize future maintenance and duplication of effort
  • Ensure web content is search friendly
  • Ensure a strong voice and brand consistency is maintained across all channels
  • Collaborate closely with internal partners and provide regular updates on project status

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of translation experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related area
  • Translation degree considered an asset
  • Healthcare knowledge considered an asset
  • Copywriting experience
  • B2B and B2C experience, including common Canadian business terminology
  • Above average writing, editing, grammar and punctuation skills
  • Strong adherence to brand standards
  • Strong understanding of layout and design considerations
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team
  • Detailed oriented, with excellent time-management and organizational skills
  • French to English translation proficiency
