PRINCIPALES FONCTIONS

Dans le cadre du projet CLC (Community Learning Centres - https://learnquebec.ca/clc), la personne a pour objectif de soutenir la réussite des élèves et de contribuer à la vitalité des communautés anglophones.

  • Il ou elle effectue des évaluations des besoins et élabore, met en oeuvre et contrôle un plan de travail annuel qui est aligné sur le plan de réussite scolaire de l'école;
  • établit des programmes et des activités pour les élèves, les familles et les membres de la communauté en développant des partenariats avec des prestataires de services locaux, régionaux et provinciaux qui partagent des objectifs communs;
  • demande des subventions pour soutenir les activités et les programmes du CLC;
  • aide la direction à créer des accords de partenariat entre les fournisseurs de services et l'école;
  • supervise les activités coordonnées par le CLC;
  • élabore des outils de marketing simples et mène des actions de sensibilisation;
  • met le personnel de l'école en contact avec les ressources communautaires pertinentes qui peuvent soutenir l'apprentissage des élèves;
  • représente les intérêts de l'école et de la communauté au sein d'une ou plusieurs tables de concertation locales et/ou régionales (tables de concertation);
  • organise périodiquement des consultations avec les principales parties prenantes externes à l'école pour évaluer les besoins (familles, partenaires communautaires, etc.);
  • présente des rapports en temps opportun, selon les exigences de l'école et de la commission scolaire et participe régulièrement au développement professionnel et aux opportunités de réseautage.

  • Maîtrise de la Suite Office et des médias sociaux;
  • expérience professionnelle en CLC un atout;
  • capacité à travailler de manière indépendante et à prendre des initiatives;
  • capacité à s'engager et à établir la confiance avec un groupe diversifié, y compris les administrateurs et le personnel des écoles, les élèves et les organisateurs de la communauté;
  • compréhension des besoins particuliers des communautés qui luttent contre la pauvreté et des minorités visibles; expérience de travail en collaboration avec une variété d'organisations et de groupes communautaires;
  • expérience avec des jeunes de tous âges, en particulier les plus vulnérables.

NATURE OF THE WORK

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in performing various technical tasks related to the management of human and financial resources, development and implementation of standards and activities related to administrative operations. As part of his or her duties, the employee may assist professionals and senior staff.

CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS

  • He or she prepares financial statements; makes accounting entries and so on; carries out technical analyses of accounts and reports; detects and corrects errors.
  • He or she collects, analyzes and synthesizes the data required for preparing the budget; participates in preparing the budget; monitors the budget and analyzes certain entries.
  • He or she may be required to respond to questions from auditors and to provide them with the necessary information and supporting documents.
  • He or she develops and adapts work methods and procedures and oversees their application in the context of the delivery of the current activities in schools and centers.
  • He or she works with others on the analysis of needs in material resources, participates in developing standards and oversees their application.
  • He or she applies or adapts management techniques to the delivery of specific administrative activities and current operations. He or she prepares reports intended for the organizations concerned and ensures the distribution.
  • He or she uses a computer and the necessary software to perform his or her duties.
  • He or she conducts research on the Internet and may be required to assist a staff member with software specific to his or her work.

MORE SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

 He or she:

  • Conducts needs assessments and develops, implements and monitors an annual work plan that is aligned with the school’s Educational Success Plan.
  • Establishes programs and activities for students, families and community members through the development of partnerships with local, regional and provincial service providers that share common goals. 
  • Applies for grants to support CLC activities and programs. 
  • Assists principal with the creation of partnership agreements between service providers and the school. 
  • Supervises activities coordinated by the CLC or coordinates supervision schedule. 
  • Develops simple marketing tools and conducts outreach to parents, students and community members to promote activities and resources.
  • Connects school staff to relevant community-based resources that can support student learning.
  • Represents school and community-based interests on one or more local and/or regional partnership tables (i.e., les tables de concertation).
  • Periodically conducts consultations with key stakeholders external to the school to assess needs and aspirations (families, community partners etc.).
  • Reports in a timely fashion, as required by the school and school board.
  • Participates in professional development and networking opportunities for CLC leaders on a regular basis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Schooling Hold a Diploma of College Studies in Techniques de l’administration générale (Business Administration) or in other appropriate technical programs for the class of employment or in an appropriate specialty for the class of employment or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority. Other Requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English; French communication skills an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media.
  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Working experience in CLC is an asset.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Ability to engage and build trust with a diverse group of stakeholders, including school administrators and staff members, students, and community organizers.
  • Understanding of the particular needs of communities struggling with poverty and minority cultures and races. Experience working in collaboration with a variety of organizations and community groups.
  • Experience with youth of all ages, especially the most vulnerable.
