As a strategic partner, the Human Resource Business Partner is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with Senior HR management in supporting designated business units. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: recruiting, employee relations, performance management, change management, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.

The successful incumbent acts as an employee champion and change agent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Administer various human resource plans and procedures for assigned business units; provides consistent HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures; assists in the maintenance of the employee handbook.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Partner with HR colleagues in the Recruitment, Learning & Development, Compensation, Legal, and People Ops teams to create business solutions and help scale the business.
  • Develop pro-active recruitment strategies in partnership with HR talent leaders to anticipate, plan, and recruit for future business needs.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching and support to front-line leaders in carrying out their people-related responsibilities (i.e. performance management, attendance management, coaching, employee relations, etc.).Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations following the documented investigation policy and procedure.
  • Review and assist managers in the creation of performance improvement documents and plans.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintain Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Report, maintain and monitor all workers' compensation and unemployment claims case files.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Maintain Human Resource Information System records (HRIS).
  • Participate in HR projects.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 10 or more years of related experience.
  • Participate in recruiting activities and on-boarding of new hires including first day paperwork, new hire orientation, assistance with benefit enrollment.
  • Strong Organizational design background required.
  • Employee relations experience required.
  • Experience with Workday preferred.
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated.
  • Strong organizational, project planning skills with ability to meet deadlines & manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of employment regulations and related laws.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across organizational levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customer & quality focus.
  • CPHR Certified Professional preferred.
