As a member of the Information Technology, Solution Delivery team, the Business Analyst is responsible for translating business requirements into effective application technology solutions. This position will support multiple applications both new and existing. The Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing assigned processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial, and technological risks.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :

  • Work with business stakeholders to analyze current processes, future requirements, and the gaps that exist between current information system capabilities and future requirements
  • Assist business units in improving processes and enabling them through technology solutions
  • Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Information Systems and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices
  • Create, validate, and recommend optimization of business processes through process maps
  • Actively support projects through different project stages, including development, quality assurance, user acceptance testing, and production implementation
  • Solid full cycle test management experience including the ability to lead business stakeholders in developing user acceptance tests for application testing of enhancement requests and fixes
  • Process appropriate change management documents as required
  • Review with the business stakeholders relevant change management documents, and ensure they are approved and filed per Bird's defined change management process
  • Create internal guides, training materials, and end-user documentation
  • Assist support staff where necessary in troubleshooting and resolving production application issues
  • Collect and validate data requirements for business intelligence systems
  • Lead/facilitate requirements workshops
  • Build and manage business relationships

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST POSSES:

  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science or Information Systems (or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical business analysis experience, with demonstrated experience analyzing business needs, translating those needs into structured business requirements documents, and working with the development team to translate them into technical requirements
  • Experience in facilitating workshops and training sessions with diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience creating and leading application testing
  • Knowledge and experience creating value stream maps would be an asset
  • Demonstrated experience developing process maps
  • Business process management practitioner, CBAP, Lean Six Sigma, or other certifications are considered an asset
  • Demonstrated strength in communications, relationship building, technical understanding, problem solving, and leadership

All candidates must be qualified to work in Canada and have a minimum of 5 years of local market working experience as a Business Analyst.
