OUR ORGANIZATION:

Edmonton Meals on Wheels is a local non-profit agency that provides home-delivered meals, other food services and social connections to a diverse mix of people. We're well known for exceptional food services and creative, innovative strategies that engage the community in various events, partnerships and volunteer opportunities.

POSITION OVERVIEW

An exciting opportunity exists for an 8-month, temporary contract position working approximately 30 hours per week. There may be the possibility to transition to a fulltime permanent role. The successful incumbent is self-directed, experienced fund development and communications team player who is outgoing, organized and committed to engaging others in the mission of Edmonton Meals on Wheels. You will have progressive experience in such areas as fundraising, marketing, public relations or communications. You would be part of a dynamic, two-person team with a diverse range of projects, stakeholder engagement, grant and other writing opportunities, media relations. You know how to tell and write compelling stories and are a creative thinker with a desire and willingness to continue our path to excellence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engaging stakeholders, corporate groups and individuals.
  • Corporate volunteer recruitment for a variety of roles.
  • Build strong donor, community and corporate relationships
  • Research new fundraising opportunities
  • Supports media and government relations
  • Plan, prepare, manage and evaluate direct mail and other campaigns
  • Lead the acquisition, growth and retention of corporate and community partners

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field with 3 to 5 years of progressive related responsibility
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office, Social Media Platforms and Adobe Creative Suite mandatory
  • Security clearance for the vulnerable sector and acceptable class five driver's abstract mandatory
  • Access to vehicle and valid driver's license and vehicle insurance for work purposes are necessary
  • Organized, excellent time management and able to handle multiple projects under tight timelines
  • Creative, positive and outgoing team player, exceptional writing and storytelling, has a ?can-do' attitude
