The Digital Benefits Assistant (DBA) program is helping our clients achieve financial security and well-being by being an integrated part of their lives, proactively providing personalized, useful and actionable information. The Marketing Strategist of the Digital Benefits Assistant (DBA) Program is accountable for driving

  • with their agile team members
  • end-to-end delivery (from ideation to execution) of marketing campaigns in many channels.

The Agile team member embraces continuous change and the autonomy to make their own decisions without necessarily having prescriptive input from management. Team members are eager to gain cross-functional skills across different roles, so must be passionate about learning with a desire to expand both their business and technical knowledge.

Please note this is a 1 year contract.

What will you do?

  • Drive end-to-end delivery (from ideation to execution) of marketing campaigns in channels such as email, web, mobile, call centre etc.
  • Publish marketing messages ensuring adherence to digital brand guidelines using the Web Experience Management (WEM) system, which requires knowledge of HTML and CSS.
  • Manage, create and curate marketing content through working with Creative Design and UX Design team members
  • Work with Creative Design to develop marketing messages that are clear, concise and client-centric, ensuring the Sun Life tone is accurately reflected and provide content strategy guidance as required.
  • Work with Data Scientists to create impactful target segments for campaigns
  • Work with Email Specialists to execute email campaigns
  • Act as liaison between the agile team and Compliance (Publications Review Process) managing requests for approval, and copy/design changes.
  • Coordinate with other agile Marketing teams as necessary
  • Works well independently, but also functions in an agile team environment. Agile team members demonstrate strong past indicators to:
  • Maintain an ownership mentality
  • Quickly make decisions to accelerate production
  • Drive execution from ideation, to development, through to execution
  • Collaborate with teammates to provide insight to business problems
  • Advocate for the client, leveraging insights that can drive meaningful marketing tactics

What do you need to succeed?

  • 3 years in a Marketing Specialist or Marketing Coordinator role
  • 2 years experience with digital marketing in a direct marketing capacity
  • 2 years experience with marketing data analytics
  • Post-secondary degree in marketing or communications
  • Advanced HTML and CSS editing skills
  • Past experience in life insurance/wealth management or other financial services industry preferred
  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written)
  • Proven balance of analytical and creative problem-solving skills

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
