JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Director of Human Resources, Communications and Legal Affairs, your responsibilities will consist of:


65% English written internal and external communication: research, develop, produce, write, adapt and edit and review the content of various communications tools intended for a wide range of internal and/or external audiences (including reports, articles, information materials, press releases, media advisories, presentations, speeches, editorials, social media postings and other written communications).


35% Take part in the development and implementation of media strategies in order to achieve the MUHC's goals: seek out stories and present them to the media (pitch), develop, plan and manage events related to MUHC public relations, including logistics, planning media interviews, press briefings, video shoots, press conferences, maintaining ongoing relationships with a diverse network of journalists, columnists and bloggers, ie. recognized influencers in both the traditional and digital media, as well as media monitoring.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Completed university degree in an appropriate discipline (Communications, public relations, journalism)
  • Three (3) years of relevant, recent experience in communications or related field

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Strong written and spoken English, good French comprehension and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to draftm summarize and disseminate written materials
  • Command of word processing and of presentation software
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with web production and multimedia
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of individuals and organizations
  • Ability to consult with others, see the big picture, work autonomously, innovatively and efficiently
  • Critical analysis
