Aurora Cannabis Inc. est actuellement à la recherche d'un traducteur. Relevant du service de traduction de la société, le traducteur aura pour rôle de soutenir les nombreux services internes d’Aurora et de fournir des services de traduction, de révision et de terminologie pour une grande variété de documents destinés à des publics internes et externes. Ce poste sera basé aux bureaux de Pointe-Claire ou de Lachute.

PRINCIPALES RESPONSABILITÉS :

• Lire, interpréter et traduire des documents, principalement de l’anglais au français.
• Réviser, relire et corriger des documents de nature variée pour assurer l’utilisation d’un langage qui convient à l’objectif et au public visé.
• Créer une base terminologique qui servira de référence pour l’ensemble des services de la société.
• Respecter le style et le ton propres à Aurora lors des traductions et des adaptations.
• S'assurer que tous les services de rédaction, de traduction et de relecture en français sont conformes aux lignes directrices de la société et aux lois sur la consommation et la langue en vigueur au Québec et dans les autres provinces concernées.
• Assurer le respect du style rédactionnel, des normes de qualité et des lignes directrices dans tous les documents imprimés et numériques en français.
• Participer à la normalisation de la terminologie utilisée dans les documents internes et externes de la société.
• Agir comme personne-ressource pour la société en matière de langue française et de terminologie.
• Déterminer et anticiper les attentes et les besoins des clients internes.
• Faire preuve de proactivité et de créativité en proposant des améliorations et des nouveautés au service de traduction.

EXIGENCES ET FORMATION :

• Baccalauréat ou diplôme universitaire en traduction (requis)
• Diplôme en communications, en journalisme, en sciences, en biologie ou dans un domaine connexe (un atout).
• De deux à trois ans d'expérience en traduction de l'anglais vers le français de documents de nature variée.
• Excellentes aptitudes en communication orale et écrite, en anglais et en français.
• Parfaite maîtrise de la grammaire et de l’orthographe française et excellente connaissance de la grammaire anglaise.
• Excellente habileté à interpréter le sens du texte d’origine et de le transposer dans la langue cible avec précision.
• Bonne connaissance et expérience de travail avec SDL Studio (Trados et MultiTerm).
• Solides compétences en révision de texte.
• Capacité à travailler en équipe et de manière autonome avec un minimum de supervision.
• Excellente connaissance de Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) et d’Adobe.
• Habiletés et volonté à apprendre rapidement à utiliser de nouveaux systèmes et logiciels informatiques.
• Excellentes habiletés de résolution de problèmes et capacité à travailler dans un environnement dynamique avec des échéanciers très serrés et une réorganisation constante des priorités.
• Grande discrétion et habileté à gérer des renseignements confidentiels.

TRANSLATOR

Aurora Cannabis Inc. is currently seeking a Translator to join our Quebec Team. Reporting to the company’s translation department, the translator’s role is to support the Aurora’s multiple departments and provide translation, proofreading and terminology services for a wide range of documents for both internal and external audiences. This position will be based at our Pointe-Claire or Lachute facility.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read, interpret and translate documents, mainly from English to French.
• Revise, proofread and correct a wide range of materials to ensure the language used reaches the objectives and the targeted audience.
• Develop a terminology database that will become a reference tool for all departments.
• Capture corporate voice and tone in translations and adaptations.
• Ensure all French copywriting, translation and proofreading conforms to the company’s guidelines and to consumer and language laws in the province of Quebec and other relevant provinces.
• Ensure copy style, standards and guidelines are followed in all French print and digital material.
• Contribute to the standardization of terminology used in all internal and external materials.
• Become a resource for the company for all French language and terminology matters.
• Proactively identify and anticipate customer expectations and needs.
• Be proactive and creative, and bring improvements and initiatives to the translation department.

BACKGROUND AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor or other university degree in translation (English to French) is required.
• Degree in communications, journalism, science, biology or in another related field is an asset.
• 2-3 years of experience in English-to-French translation on a wide range of materials.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in both English and French.
• Perfect knowledge of French grammar and spelling, and excellent knowledge of English grammar.
• Able to interpret the meaning of original text and change it to reflect the equivalent text in the target language.
• Proficiency in SDL Studio (Trados and MultiTerm) and work experience using the software.
• Strong proofreading skills.
• Ability to work with a team as well as independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe.
• Skills and willingness in learning quickly new software and computer systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and ever-changing priorities.
