The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for the development, planning, and operational execution of marketing initiatives and programs on Walter web properties, social media and advertising initiatives. This role creates value by optimizing the customer journey and assisting with reporting.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  •  Develop relevant and brand consistent content for blogs, web content, email campaigns, newsletters, advertising, social media and other digital initiatives;
  • Develop and execute successful social media strategy and campaigns through competitive research, messaging and benchmarking. Manage Walter’s social media influencer program;
  • Maintain PR and ad placement book;
  • Work with the marketing team to help execute specific product line campaigns, including product launches, industry events, channel initiatives, digital advertising, and integrated marketing campaigns.  Develop analytical tools to measure performance and ROI of these marketing campaigns;
  • Ensure effective project coordination for digital campaigns, including search engine marketing, online brochures and catalogs, during development and implementation of digital marketing/advertising initiatives; 
  • Analyze current best practices in integrated social media digital campaigns as well as future directions based on emerging technology;
  •  Prepare analysis reports and dashboards to track, monitor and optimize digital presence and campaigns;
  •  Other duties as assigned.

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong understanding of the latest trends and technologies in social media and marketing communications;
  • Proven competency with email marketing strategies, social media, website strategy development, and web analytics;
  • Experience developing and managing content and digital marketing initiatives;
  • Ability to work independently on multiple assignments while maintaining high quality results;
  • Excellent copywriting and verbal communication skills in English.  French is an asset;
  • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally;
  • Excellent computer skills required.  Proficiency in MS Office;
  • Strong sense of organization and attention to detail required;
  • Adobe creative suite knowledge an asset;
  • Experience working with e-mail marketing and marketing automation software an asset.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or advertising, or equivalent experience required.
  • Recent graduate or 1-2 years relevant experience in digital marketing, marketing or communications
