Administrative Assistant - Regina

The Position

The Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan (HSAS) is a trade union representing over 4000 health care professionals in Saskatchewan. HSAS requires a full time Administrative Assistant for our Regina office. This is a unionized position under the USW. The incumbent will provide administrative support including telephone and reception services.

Education

Diploma from a recognized business college, completed secondary education, and minimum of one year's experience in a similar role, preferably in a human resources or labour relations environment.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Publisher
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills, both in person and on the phone
  • Strong data entry skills, both alpha and numeric
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment including photocopier, scanner, printers, etc.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent typing, proofreading and filing skills
  • Understanding of general practices in a professional office
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to organize, plan and complete a large volume of tasks simultaneously and with accuracy
  • Ability to establish priorities and organize workflow, taking into consideration frequent interruptions and competing deadlines
  • Ability to take meeting minutes

Compensation

HSAS offers a competitive compensation and benefits package as governed by the collective agreement. Salary wage step will be determined on the experience and skill set of the incumbent.
