Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Communications & Brand Reputation, this Manager-level role will be responsible for driving proactive programs in support of the company's external and internal communications goals, with a specific focus on Public Affairs and advocacy.

Responsibilities will include :

Partnering with colleagues across corporate functions, including Government Relations, Marketing and TMX's General Counsel's office as required, to develop and execute communications and advocacy action plans to support TMX's objectives.

Partnering with colleagues in Marketing to develop integrated communications and marketing programs that will deliver against business needs and support TMX as a leading brand.

Collaborating to create strategic messaging and presentations in support of senior executives.

Supporting TMX Group's media relations activities by: proactively seeking media coverage of corporate activities and business area developments; positioning the value and competitive position of various business units and offerings, and responding to media requests.

Requirements :

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Speech writing experience is a valued and priority asset

A communications or public relations degree, diploma, or appropriate experience.

A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant media relations, communications experience, in financial services, preferably with a public company

Direct professional experience that includes management of complex projects, and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously

A digitally savvy communicator, with a curiosity for how technology is changing and enabling both communications and business

Strong analytical ability

Strong business acumen sense and strategic approach

Ability to work independently while ensuring that communications messaging is at all times consistent with overall corporate communications objectives

Personally and professionally disciplined, highly motivated, innovative and creative.

Must have a flexible working style to accommodate different types of projects in a multiple project-oriented environment

Team player, active collaborator, friendly communicator, customer service focus

Must have strong Word, Excel, Google for Work and PowerPoint knowledge

Media monitoring experience is a definite asset

Bilingualism (English and French) is also a strong asset
