Purpose of the position

The Senior HR Specialist, Talent Acquisition is responsible for developing and executing the strategy to attract and recruit the talent necessary to support our operations and its continued growth. The individual will reach out to prospective employees, to successfully identify, assess and build relationships with ?top talent? internally and externally. The role requires coordination of all efforts related to recruiting to ensure right candidates are selected considering skills sets, and knowledge, aligned with our Diversity and Inclusion policy.

Key Tasks

  • Partner with the hiring managers to identify and plan forward recruitment needs, and develop recruiting strategies to identify, target, and attract top talent
  • Post jobs for recruitment, utilizing different job boards
  • Create creative company branding to promote the organization with support of the Marketing Manager
  • Continuously search and connect with talent from our industry via Linked In
  • For hard-to-fill senior or specialist roles, develop relationships with third-party recruiters
  • Work with hiring managers to identify and understand business requirements for open positions
  • Utilize various recruiting sources to obtain an adequate number of qualified applicants for staffing needs
  • Verify employment eligibility of each applicant; manage work permit, visas as needed
  • Track candidates' status through the entire recruitment process
  • Provide updates to management of the status of the hiring pipeline for open positions
  • Manage the interview process, including pre-screening of candidates within HRIS Recruiting Portal
  • Use skill assessment tools and tests to screen candidates (Saville Assessment)
  • Develop relationships with leading universities/business schools to build brand awareness of DSV careers within the student population
  • Continuously monitor the competitive market conditions in each market in which we operate and provide recommendations on compensation, benefits, and other recruitment trends
  • Conduct candidate reference, as needed
  • Help drive retention by conducting exit and stay interviews and provide reporting feedback
  • Continually create new, innovative methods to improve the recruitment process and success
  • Facilitate in-house Recruitment Training to hiring Supervisors and Managers
  • Manage and maintain job descriptions for all roles
  • Develop competency Interview Tools to support hiring managers in interview process
  • Provide support to Manager with Pay Equity compliance
  • Perform assigned tasks to support DSV meets its objectives and targets regarding quality, health, safety and environment and follow all requirements as set out in the Quality Health Safety Environment policy.

Educational background / Work experience

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources
  • CHRP or CHRL designation, an asset
  • 3-5 years prior work experience as an in-house recruiter, preferably in a fast-growth organization and a highly competitive labor market environment
  • Certification in Everything DiSC and Saville Assessments (an asset)
  • Familiarity with full-cycle recruitment
  • Strong interviewing skills and familiarity with various interview techniques (like video or panel interviews)
  • Sound knowledge of HR practices and various provincial legislation

Language Skills

  • Proficient in English
  • Additional languages (French), an asset

Computer Literacy

  • Knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient in utilizing different social media and job recruiting platforms
