As a Technical Writer at SE, you bring user-centered thinking and strong experience in technical communication. You are intensely curious about learning the details of our products and can quickly understand and then disseminate clear information about our products. In this role, you will work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to produce and deliver technical content that helps our users manage their electrical systems with our hardware, software, and SaaS products.

What will you do?

  • Create help documentation in close collaboration with Agile development teams, Product Management, and other stakeholders.
  • Produce clear, complete, and correct technical content.
  • Create any necessary graphics and coordinate layout and manual organization.
  • Research available engineering information such as specifications, drawings, and equipment.
  • Read complex engineering documentation and interview product developers to obtain an understanding of features.
  • Research and learn new or existing products through existing materials and hands-on access to equipment/software.
  • Participate in editorial peer-review process to ensure high-quality, consistent deliverables according to industry and company formats, styles, and standards.
  • Actively contribute to fostering growth in the technical communication chapter.
(External) English Qualifications :

What qualifications will make you successful?

3+ years of hardware technical writing experience.

  • 3+ years' experience creating and managing graphics using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign and working with 3D graphics.
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Human Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related
  • Strong ability to develop clear and concise technical content in English, adhering to defined document and brand standards.
  • Strong time management skills, and ability to establish and report work priorities and balance varying demands.
  • Strong team player capable of collaborating well with other technical communicators, developers, and product stakeholders.
  • Dedication to keeping up to date with current technology trends and best practices in technical communication.

What experiences and skills will be preferred?

Creating information for single-sourcing and repurposing; experience using MadCap Flare is a plus.

  • Working in an Agile environment with multi-disciplinary, geographically distributed teams.
  • Knowledge of the electrical power industry and/or industrial/utility software systems.
