General Description:

Inside Sales representative receives (by telephone, fax, or email) requests for quotations, orders, and lead times from customers. Makes quotations on standard items, writes orders, and relays pertinent order information to customers. Coordinates with other departments in handling, purchase orders and providing service to customers. Performs other related duties as assigned.


  • Contact current and prospective clients through phone calls and emails to explain products, including new developments, and create sales opportunities.
  • Respond to customer requests, answer inquiries and provide information professionally and accurately.
  • Build new relationships and strengthen existing relationships to create lifelong business partners that will return for automation solutions for years to come.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all products we supply and develop an understanding of new products quickly.
  • Recommend certain products to customers based on their specific needs and desires.
  • Work with team members to facilitate calls, manage workflow, and minimize hold times throughout the sales process.
  • Listen attentively to consumer questions and provide answers that are knowledgeable and insightful to encourage product sales.
  • Process RFQ's and closely support outside sales representatives as needed.
  • Showcase the company's strengths and highlight our brand by talking exclusively about the characteristics that make our organization unique.
  • Inventory Management.
  • Promotion of products offered by Proax.
  • Expedite orders and follow up with customers.
  • Check with the credit department concerning the credit status of the customer when rush orders are received.
  • Complete administrative duties after each sale, keeping track of products sold.
  • Understand customer segmentation, product balance, key customer relationships, market shares, and general trends in the economic environment.
  • Assisting shipping department when required.

Work experience requirements:

  • 2 - 4 years of customer service experience.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multitask.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and well-organized.

Education requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related area plus relevant training and experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Technology diploma; a solid technical background is required.
  • Entry-level Marketing Skills are an asset.
  • Intermediate computer skills; MS Office & ERP software.
