1.0 FTE- Communications and Community Engagement Specialist

The Middlesex London Ontario Health Team (MLOHT) is seeking an energetic, dedicated individual to support communications and lead community engagement to assist the MLOHT to bridge the gap between health care services and supports to improve patient/client care. Visit our website at

Position: Communications and Community Engagement Specialist

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve outreach to service providers, stakeholders, and the community
  • Implement communications strategies and plans, processes, and procedures to increase community awareness of the MLOHT and its connection to patient/client services
  • Assist in managing communication tools (website, social media, newsletters) to successfully implement MLOHT communications strategies
  • Assist in partnership development by drafting unique community engagement materials
  • Assist in implementing key deliverables as directed by the province
  • Participate as an active contributing member of several local tables/working groups

Excellent interpersonal, networking and time management skills as well as the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced environment are essential. This role is mainly remote with some in-person meetings.

A post-secondary school diploma or degree in communications, public affairs and/or marketing with at least two years of experience in the industry (preferably in a health care setting).

The MLOHT is a team of local healthcare providers and community members who work together to better connect healthcare and supports across Middlesex County & London.

Skills and Qualifications:

Advanced skills in WordPress, Microsoft Office (Teams), Constant Contact email marketing, Adobe Creative Suites and/or other graphic design software such as Canva. Experience using online community engagement platforms (such as Bang the Table) is an asset.
