Overview :

As a key contributor to the origination of small balance commercial mortgages, the Regional Sales Manager will use talent and creativity to make a real impact on the success of Bayview's Canadian operation. He or she will leverage his or her relational strengths and network of contacts by identifying opportunities to originate deals and develop new business opportunities. The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) will solicit and originate loans for commercial real estate on behalf of the Company. The RSM will use independent analysis, decision making skills and discretion to develop productive broker and/or other intermediary relationships to drive loan volume. The RSM is responsible for business development, quality loan submissions, and all aspects of their respective loan pipeline. The position requires knowledge of the company's products, policies and guidelines. Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Development:

  • Cultivate and develop relationships with mortgage brokers, mortgage bankers, realtors, CPA's and banks in a designated territory.
  • Identify mortgage brokers that originate mortgage products that meet the company's guidelines.
  • Consistently generate and maintain a quality pipeline of transactions in order to meet production requirements.
  • Travel as needed to deliver with sales presentations and broker recruitment.

Analysis:

  • Strong understanding of real estate and finance fundamentals.
  • Solid analytical and underwriting skills
  • Recommend transactions based on solid knowledge of local market, real estate and the borrower.

Marketing:

  • Assist in the development of the marketing plan that allows for the greatest market

penetration in the assigned territory.

  • Conduct client training sessions as needed.
  • Attend tradeshows and other industry related conferences.

Facilitate Diligence and Closing:

  • Act as primary point of contact with borrowers from initial credit application to submission of loan requests to loan closing to ensure a seamless and positive client service experience
  • Oversee coordination of borrower onboarding, loan underwriting and loan funding functions to ensure a streamlined and efficient process
  • Communicate credit committee decisions and loan terms to borrowers

Customer Service:

  • Represent the Company with honesty and integrity while delivering high levels of customer service to both our external and internal partners.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry and competition
  • Regularly attend external professional development opportunities (educational, networking, etc.)
  • Regularly read industry and market-related publications
  • Qualifications:

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to build relationships
  • Passionate, willing to put in the extra effort in order to achieve personal goals
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with limited supervision, in a fast paced work environment

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have the ability to remain flexible and meet deadlines under pressure with little supervision;

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BA degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of successful field sales experience or equivalent.
