REPORTS TO Manager, Products & Individual Distribution


Reporting to the Manager, Products & Individual Distribution, the Individual Products Advisor's role will focus on sales, retention and customer experience. The incumbent will address incoming customer inquiries from multiple sources which will create opportunities to promote, qualify and sell prospective customers our individual health and dental benefit plans over the phone, increase customer loyalty and reduce customer cancellations utilizing retention strategies.


  • Responds to inbound calls and follows-up with clients that have expressed an interest in our products.
  • Proactively contacts customers who are identified as at risk of cancellation and ensures that every opportunity to retain these customers is investigated.
  • Responds to diverse and complex inquiries from customers in person, via email and by phone.
  • Acts as a liaison between clients and all internal departments.
  • Provides timely follow-up to client issues.
  • Analyzes client information, provides recommendations on possible improvements to products and services, and offers long-term solutions to retain clients.
  • Assists in the analysis of customer trends to enhance sales and improve service management processes.
  • Identifies new products and business practices that could be introduced, or suggests modifications to existing practices that could reduce the risk of customer cancellations.
  • Ensures turnaround standards are met.
  • Manages complex issues/files as required.
  • Performs special assignments and other related duties as assigned.
  • Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service; committed to responding to, anticipating and addressing customer needs, for both internal and external customers.
  • Ability to obtain a Provincial Accident and Sickness Insurance Agent License is required.
  • Understands the sales process.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to adjust personal style to different personalities and situations.

  • Well organized and self-motivated, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Post-secondary education, preferably a college diploma in Business Administration, is an asset.
