In 2023, EarthDaily Analytics will launch The EarthDaily Constellation, the world's most powerful global change detection and analysis system. Scientific-grade and analytics-ready imagery of the Earth's land mass will be captured every day, at the same time of day, and made available within hours through a cloud-based platform.


We're a multidisciplinary team of Software, Finance, HR and Project Management professionals with backgrounds in various industries and technologies. Our diversity is core to our success in building the most innovative technologies on (and off!) the planet. We are looking for an experienced Marketing professional to join our crew and establish the EarthDaily brand. If you have marketing and communications experience with high tech products and are an excellent copywriter who is comfortable developing highly technical content, we want to hear from you!


As an Integrated Marketing Director you will be responsible for developing, managing and optimizing business-to-business marketing strategies and communication campaigns that integrate advertising, public relations, sales promotion, and digital and social marketing disciplines to establish the EarthDaily brand. You will deliver accurate and consistent messaging across all media with a focus on Canadian partners and customers. Reporting to the Executive VP of Business Development (interim), you will seek opportunities for market/customer/partner research and will collaborate with production and product design teams to position existing products and services.


Marketing Plan Development and Execution

  • Working in partnership to ensure alignment with the head of global marketing, conceptualize and manage integrated, corporate marketing and sales-driven projects across multiple media platforms including social media and print communications ensuring sufficient coverage in assigned regions
  • Act as the internal and external brand evangelist to support the evolution of the EDA brand and expansion of the company's products and services attending trade shows, events, webinars, and speaking engagements
  • Develop an integrated marketing and communication strategy to build brand awareness and evolve EarthDaily's position in the market, including key activities and a budget to support the retention of existing customers and the acquisition of new customers
  • In collaboration with product managers and engineering, plan and execute product launches and releases of new products/services; Lead the cross-functional implementation of the marketing plan for new products and services
  • Oversee project execution with a strong emphasis on web development, video production (pre-production coordination, copywriting/script development etc.)
  • Direct and supervise the workflow of external public relations, advertising or marketing agencies and report on progress

Copywriting/Content Development

  • Take ownership of the EarthDaily website and social media channels, ensuring content and posts are aligned with sales and marketing strategies
  • Write and deploy internal and external communications including, but not limited to, website copy, social media and print communications campaigns, press releases, executive presentations and speeches and ensure all product, price and promotional information is up-to-date and accurate

Market-Research/Support for Sales Process

  • Understand and support EDA sales channels; Train sales staff on developed marketing communications tools to answer questions for customer/users
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis; Know our customers, who they are, how they buy and other key product acquisition and decision-making criteria
  • Educate others on EDA's competitive landscape including brand positioning, product and service features and pricing; Collaborate with product development to optimize product-positioning and messaging to resonate with a variety of technical/scientific audiences across industry verticals
  • Understand and document the customer purchasing process, including where customers obtain information and the who, what, when and why behind decisions they make using obtained data to drive appropriate change to our sales and marketing processes

Campaign Effectiveness and Metrics Tracking

  • Assess effectiveness of deployed marketing strategies and programs on an on-going basis including website and campaign effectiveness, reporting key metrics to the business monthly and quarterly

Media Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant media and act as a media spokesperson for EDA including as a media contact


  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or other, relevant field
  • A Masters in Communications or an MBA in this role is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in brand development and execution
  • Proven ability to produce strong, accurate, well-written and compelling communications (samples of writing will be required)
  • Strong public-speaking and presentation skills
  • Knowledge satellite data applications and customer needs an asset
  • Competitive/market-research experience - especially in Canada - with an ability to conceptualize and interpret marketing metrics
  • Tech-savvy and experienced using social media and emerging collaboration, and marketing automation tools
  • Excellent people and project management skills; ability to communicate with people in and outside of the organization at all levels and build internal partnerships across all functional areas

  • Hours of work typically fall between 9:00am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday, occasional evening/weekend work may be required
  • This is primarily a hybrid position, with some in-office work required
