Reporting to the Director - Marketing & Trading, the Marketing & Optimization Representative plays an integral part in the Aitken Creek Gas Storage (ACGS) team. This position is responsible for executing natural gas transactions and optimization of the West market, as well as engaging with customers on service offerings. Areas of focus for this role will include the optimization of ACGS as well as all aspects of identifying, evaluating and advancing commercial opportunities.

Responsibilities

Represent the requirements of ACGS through negotiation and execution of daily and term natural gas transactions

Review fundamental and market information to assess, manage and mitigate transportation commitments

Collaborate to develop medium term optimization opportunities

Coordinating scheduling activities

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, market participants and business partners

Provide input and support the development and implementation of marketing strategies and plans. Be a central point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Utilized advanced risk management tools to provide valuable services while mitigating and managing price exposure Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Economics or Finance from a recognized program.

Ability to work in a fast paced, time constrained environment which includes quickly identifying market opportunities

Demonstrated commercial negotiation skills

Understanding of various pipeline nomination systems, tariffs and regulatory environment

Extensive knowledge of supply and market fundamentals in the WCSB and North America

Knowledge and understanding of natural gas related businesses (production, pipeline, scheduling, and finance)

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel

Ability to drive for results through planning, alignment, execution, and customer experience/responsiveness

Ability to make optimal decisions through accountability, judgement, problem solving, prudent risk taking, market/industry awareness, and maintaining customer focus

This position is based for employment in Vancouver with consideration for Calgary.

Some travel will be required.
