What we refer to internally as a Business Coordinator, this role is tailor made for someone who loves connecting with people, solving problems, and making an impact using their resourcefulness and desire to add value.

Working alongside three other Business Coordinators, you will act as a liaison between the Risk Office and internal teams and departments, leveraging your digital, communication and event management skills to support delivery of Risk Management operational goals.

As the primary executive assistant to the Senior Vice President, Credit Risk and direct report, your ability to manage and prioritize goals and expectations will allow you to successfully support the coordination of their daily administrative and operational needs - including, but not limited to, calendar management, travel arrangements, expenses, budget monitoring, and records management.

Your desire and ability to leverage cloud-based technologies will allow you to provide support in an array of areas to enable team capacity, including process optimization, data-driven insights, and project and space management.

The Business Coordination team supports a wide range of executive activities with limited direction, ensuring the Risk Management department operates as a high-performing team. The successful candidate must have experience in a fast paced, dynamic environment where a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality, attention to detail and flexibility are required. Positive interactions, strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across stakeholder groups are critical requirements for this role.


  • Assist in the execution of Executive responsibilities through assessment of information and engagement with colleagues to escalate urgent matters requiring immediate response where necessary.
  • Use an understanding of the goals, needs and priorities of the Risk Management department to move initiatives forward and make sound decisions about priorities of requests, while maintaining a system to ensure operational and project activities are completed successfully and within budget.
  • Provide coordination and administrative support by managing administrative activities, including but not limited to management of multiple calendars, travel arrangements, team event coordination, expenses, budget monitoring, and records management.
  • Create and publish communications content for various audiences through both external and internal channels, using your proven verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of ATB's corporate narrative.
  • Assist in onboarding new team members, including securing technology assets. Provide assistance and training on the use of processes and platforms.
  • Liaise with team members, partners and stakeholders in an approachable, collaborative, and agile manner providing coverage to other Business Coordinators as necessary. Look for opportunities to work together with others with an eye towards finding efficiencies and leveraging your reputation for being extremely professional and delivering exceptional customer service, all while having fun doing it!
  • Plan and coordinate off-site meetings and other events across Risk Management.
  • Complete/validate expense account transactions in the Concur system ensuring appropriate documentation and coding are attached and expenses incurred are within ATB's Travel and Expense Card Policies.
  • As the ideal candidate you possess:
  • Certificate and/or equivalent experience in marketing, communications or event management is desirable.
  • 3+ years experience supporting one or more senior executives, including extensive experience managing a senior executive's calendar, using knowledge of organizational and departmental timelines and priorities to effectively manage demand for time in a fast paced, interruption-driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work collaboratively with other stakeholders, including all levels of management, internal and external contacts; and ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.
  • Experience in process governance and organization, ability to assemble, compile, analyze and summarize data and initiatives that all go towards a common goal.
  • Expert knowledge of Google Suites to produce high quality reports, presentations or other documents. Exposure to data visualization tools is an asset. Demonstrated ability to learn and effectively use new software.
  • You have strong knowledge of business rules, functional area processes and policies and use this to make recommendations for identifying opportunities and solutions.
  • Must be assertive and able to work independently to anticipate and address issues in the executive's absence. You expertly anticipate the needs of your Executives with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
  • Easily engages with others at all levels. Provides guidance, direction, and mentorship to other Business Coordinators across Risk Management.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Strong customer-service orientation; a flexible and willing 'can do' attitude.
  • Ability to be diplomatic, tactful and use discretion in all situations with both internal and external parties, with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Understanding of ATB practices, processes and people is considered an asset.
