We are looking for a driven, creative, and entrepreneurial candidate with Marketing and Public Relations experience to join our team. This role will report directly to the Director of Growth Marketing for Canada and is accountable for developing and executing communications programs and publicity campaigns to help grow Disney's Direct-to-Consumer (eg. Disney+) subscribers and viewer engagement in Canada.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead and build the Canadian Disney+ corporate and brand PR execution and strategy, communicating plans internally, and securing leadership approvals
  • Develop and implement Disney+ corporate and brand PR strategies and publicity campaigns for Disney's Direct-to-Consumer products (e.g Disney+) to drive customer acquisition, engagement, and retention
  • Partner closely with the global Disney+ Communications and Canadian Studio PR teams
  • Write, develop, and manage approvals for local press releases, and related media materials related to regional brand initiatives
  • Own the integrated communications brief and plans; have oversight of all aspects of the campaign process from strategy to ideation, to execution to measurement
  • Manage and guide proactive corporate and brand PR announcements, launches, and narratives specific to Canada
  • Manage various marketing automations including email newsletters and batch campaigns throughout the customer lifecycle
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with relevant media in Canada
  • Analyze and report PR activation performance to quantify the effectiveness of campaigns and drive scalable learnings on a regular basis
  • Other marketing and PR duties as required

Basic Qualifications :

  • 7+ years of experience in Public Relations or Communications preferably in media / entertainment
  • Excellent communications skills, exemplary writing ability
  • Proven ability to manage complex communication challenges
  • A strong bias for action and ability to work equally well with operations teams, executive management and external stakeholders, whether that partner be off or on site
  • Self-driven with the ability to be both strategic and execution oriented
  • Established reputation for integrity, sound judgment, fairness, and discretion
  • Ability to thrive in change, while always maintaining high attention to detail in a deadline driven environment

Required Education :

  • Bachelor's degree in PR, Communications, Journalism, English, or equivalent industry experience
