Job summary:

As Director, PR & Corporate Communications you will be responsible for developing and executing our communications strategy while supporting and aligning with our company mission and business strategy. You will oversee and manage a small team of experienced communications professionals to drive our corporate communications, oversee our Canadian communication operations and provide guidelines to ensure the development of a global-local communication ecosystem. This role is tailor-made for a high-performing communicator who wants to take a leadership position in a fast-growing, global company.

Your day will look like this:

  • Plan and maintain our corporate communication strategy and action plan
  • Align our external communications around key business messages and identify strategic channels that will position Solotech as a Global Leader in AV and Entertainment Technology, attract top talent and engage key external partners
  • Lead and coach the communications and media relations team and operations
  • Ensure smooth communications operations, from planning to copywriting to translation and proofreading, to publishing & distribution
  • Develop our media relations practice, to elevate our notoriety
  • Structure our donations, partnerships, sponsorships strategy to elevate the Solotech brand credibility
  • Ensure constant cadence of communications to increase awareness among Solotech’s stakeholders
  • Own the Corporate Solotech Messaging that applies on multiple platforms and tools: media kits, About Solotech, Corporate sections on the Website, etc.
  • Identify stories that are press-worthy; develop a framework to manage IP/consent for PR on a global scale
  • Ensure monthly reporting and metrics are tracked, reported, and shared with key stakeholders to align with KPIs
  • In association with HR
    • Promote the company's Employer Brand and Recruitment Opportunities
    • Establish internal communications strategies to help build a positive brand sentiment among new employees from companies acquired from M&A
    • Define best practices for internal communications, including technology and processes to ensure awareness among all employee groups
  • In association with Marketing:
    • Plan brand awareness campaigns and visibility plans, in line with company objectives and positioning
    • Identify and execute on opportunities that build brand and service/product awareness (case studies, sponsorships, partnerships, events, etc.)
    • Support the creation-copy of marketing content when needed (web, newsletters, articles, etc)

Your profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications or Public Relations, with a preference for an MBA
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of communications experience including managing a bilingual communication operation in a global company
  • Experience leading a team of professionals to deliver and execute on high impact strategies
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal skills in both English and French
  • Proven experience with media outreach and earned media practices
  • Strong, trusted relationships with tech and business media and experience supporting senior executives a major asset
  • Experience implementing innovative communications strategies with a focus on results and team building
  • Experience effectively driving linkages between internal and external communications and brand
  • Excellent track record working across senior leadership teams to build and fully execute a global communications strategy
  • Highly motivated and adaptable with a demonstrated ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced and team-oriented environment – especially in the context of M&As
  • Ability to influence people and facilitate cooperation of internal and external partners
  • Ability to extract, compile, understand and act on key performance indicators, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Ability to produce (plan + write + review) content and be hands-on on ongoing projects and tactics
