The Role:

The Events Coordinator, is part of the team responsible for the successful implementation of all community & special events at APC. Serving as the first point of contact, this position is accountable for non-catering related events including booking, event planning, scheduling, coordinating, monitoring, tracking, executing, closing, invoicing & contracting, event fulfillment, and guest satisfaction tracking through Event Pro. This position will also coordinate event set-up and take down, ensure effective execution of plans that meet the needs of the clients and complete a post-event analysis with a client follow-up on customer satisfaction. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes quickly, operate within time sensitive deadlines, and handle multiple client demands. The Event Coordinator, must communicate and ensure compliance with APC venue usage policies to guests and/or clients. The Event Coordinator, will assist the team in the development of new events and will utilize APC's event scheduling database (Event Pro) to identify new client event opportunities to past clients as directed.

The Event Coordinator, must demonstrate a professional level of interpersonal and communication skills including written and oral communication skills. This position requires attention to detail and the ability to organize work flow, establish priorities and maintain confidentiality with a high degree of accuracy. A thorough knowledge of all facilities and greenspaces is necessary in order to provide accurate pricing and information. The Event Coordinator, must work flexible hours as required in order to coordinate and execute events, including evenings and weekends.

This role is permanent, full-time.

Required Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma and/or GED equivalent.
  • Certificate in Hospitality & Event Management, Marketing, Tourism Certified Professional, or related field would be considered an asset.
  • Must possess a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License.
  • A minimum 2 years' experience in event planning and/or coordination.
  • Intermediate technology and computer skills.
  • Tourism and/or general event management experience would be considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
