Recently named one of Canada's fastest growing companies for the second year in a row, we're on the hunt for talented, enthusiastic team members to join us at our headquarters in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia.

We are looking for a Graphic Designer to join our creative team. You will be part of a team of designers working directly with the Art Director - Brand Communications, to deliver branded material across the organization, aimed at both customer-facing and internal audiences. Using our current visual identity system and brand guidelines, you will bring our brand to life on a wide range of digital and printed collateral; from swatches for our trade and B2B clients to internal communications packages to templates that help improve the day-to-day efficiency of our internal teams, right through to signage and environmental branding of our warehouse and delivery locations.

You'll have experience working with brand identity platforms and systems, as well as brand standards documents/guidelines that define detailed principles of use and application of the distinctive brand assets and components of those systems.

The design team is currently at around 7 team members and growing fast (in the last year, we have doubled in size). This role works on the core brand communications and visual identity applications, as well as conceptualizing and creating omni-channel marketing campaign assets (including email, ecomm, paid and organic social content). We are a very collaborative team that works closely together to push the level of creativity at Article to relentlessly pursue remarkably better!

Wondering what a day in the life of a Graphic Designer at Article looks like?

  • You will be reporting to the Art Director to produce assets across a range of channels
  • Ensuring all content meets brand style guidelines, and advocating for best practices
  • Presenting your work to key stakeholders, being responsive to design changes, and being innovative in your approach
  • Provide multiple directions for solving the business problem in an assigned brief
  • Providing and receiving feedback with other team members
  • Contribute creative ideas towards team brainstorm sessions
  • Ensuring all files are prepared and production-ready in required digital and print formats
  • Working with the Art Director and other team members to innovate and find new creative ways to express the Article brand
  • Assisting with other Creative team projects as required

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Highly creative, collaborative, and self-motivated
  • 3+ years of experience as a graphic designer either in-house or in an agency setting
  • Formal graphic design education
  • Excellent graphic design and typography skills as well as proficiency in illustration and icon-crafting
  • Strong experience in using Adobe Creative Cloud software
  • Ability to work within brand guidelines
  • Strong conceptualizing and storyboarding abilities
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with extreme attention to detail (proficient in self-editing graphic design work including spelling, grammar, formatting, etc.)
  • Ability to create multiple concepts from an individual brief and communicate concepts to a team
  • Ability to be self-directed, work independently and manage time effectively
  • Awareness of and interest in the design community and current trends

Bonus points:

  • Proficiency in motion graphics and simple animations
  • Passion for and understanding of the interiors industry, industrial design, or decoration
  • Although we support remote working, our ideal candidate will be based in Vancouver, BC, and open to regularly coming into the office in person
