ABOUT THE ROLE

The Content Officer role is focused on developing core messaging and narratives to bring our organizational vision and priorities to life through storytelling, encouraging people to engage in advocacy and donation. This is a full-time, permanent, remote-based position.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Write and produce engaging content that builds trust and accurately communicates our work, impact, and organizational values. 
  • Compose and produce digital content for the website, fundraising campaigns, reports, and research and advocacy priorities.
  • Engage with FBC’s network across Canada to develop unique stories that illustrate local experiences.
  • Edit and proofread new content before publication. 
  • Maintain and update content on the WordPress website to optimize SEO.
  • Develop content ideas and communication strategies in coordination with the communications team and other departments to expand FBC's online presence.  
  • Gather and analyze digital and web analytics.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Post-secondary degree or certificate in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or equivalent work experience.
  • Two to five years of experience in a communications or social media role. 
  • Superb writing, content development, and editing skills.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Experience in content production, video editing, or graphic design is an asset. 
  • Analytical skills with the ability to use various digital marketing KPI measurement tools. 
  • Experience with WordPress and Photoshop strongly preferred.
  • Initiative and a self-starter, with the ability to work effectively with little supervision.
  • French language skills an asset.
  • The ability to have fun and enjoy the work that you do!

COMPENSATION

Compensation will be determined by the job class and the candidates experience and capabilities brought to the position. The hiring range for this position is between $48,600 - $60,800.
