Leader Name: Jennifer Anderson, Managing Director, Brand Communications

and reporting into the Managing Director, Brand Communications, you will provide strategic direction and communication expertise within the R&B Wealth Squad. You will focus on effective and efficient communication efforts that drive value against ATB's strategy and business objectives, and the development and execution of smart, integrated communication strategies. This includes communication planning, storytelling, channel distribution and proactive public relations activities that reach key clients and stakeholders and enhance ATB's reputation as THE financial institution for Wealth in Alberta, and beyond.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Build, elevate and protect ATB's reputation
  • Key liaison in the Wealth Squad to the Brand Communications Centre of Expertise
  • Help build and deliver on an integrated Marketing and Communications annual plan for ATB Wealth
  • Develop and activate a holistic communications strategy in support of the squad plan, segments of focus, stakeholder needs and the market plan
  • Build a strategic approach to reach Wealth audiences through the right content in the right places using PESO channels
  • Strengthen the connection between brand insights and relevant MarComm actions
  • Amplify the impact of institutional research and content produced by the ATB Wealth team
  • Bring ATB Wealth's value proposition to life using the PESO model (paid, earned, shared and owned channels)
  • Manage public relations, communications planning, content support, social media and/or advertising efforts
  • Champion storyteller who works closely with marketers, creators, communicators, and key partners to enhance and amplify powerful Wealth proof points through an editorial plan
  • Mobilize resources to support in the execution of communication activities (external and internal)
  • Work in partnership with Wealth Internal Communications partners to align internal and external communication priorities
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to elevate the profile of ATB Wealth with target audiences
  • Help elevate ATB Wealth executive and team members (their expertise and advice) as industry leaders in partnership with ATB's media team and internal communications partners
  • Drive continuous improvement of R&B performance through KPI tracking, reporting and performance management
  • Champion the nuances, processes and rules required to communicate in a regulated environment (e.g. IIROC, FINRA)

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field
  • Minimum 7 years progressive experience in Communications, spanning multiple subject areas
  • Experience in Financial Services or Wealth Management communications
  • Proven track record as a strong strategic thinker who is results-oriented
  • Strong understanding of the full range of communication and marketing channels (paid, earned, shared and owned), how they work, how they can be integrated and how to evaluate them
  • Social media management - planning, publishing and monitoring
  • Lives a growth mindset and is eager to learn and share learnings in spans and layers across ATB
  • Data-driven communicator experienced developing KPI frameworks and both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis methodologies to guide program creation and insight generation
  • Client-centric team member who approaches any challenge with thoughtfulness, drive, and a sense of urgency
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills - able to build strong relationships with team members at all levels internally as well as external partners and viewed as a trusted strategic partner
  • Experience with issue communications and work well under pressure
  • Experience with Agile methodology and practices is an asset
