The team:

Genetec is a market leader and innovative technology company with a broad solutions portfolio that encompasses security, intelligence, and operations. We are looking for a Regional Events Manager (North America) to join our newly formed North American marketing team. Reporting to the Director, Americas Marketing, and working closely with the Corporate Events Team based in Montréal, you will take responsibility for the planning and execution of all conferences, user events, and trade shows within the North American events portfolio. Your focus will be to showcase the Genetec brand throughout North America (USA & Canada) and you will manage both physical and some virtual events that ultimately drive tons of qualified leads through to our sales organization!

What your day will look like:

  • Plan and execute a high impact, large-scale event program in Genetec's largest sales region, North America - and bring it in on budget
  • Closely plan, manage, and track a significant sized budget and portfolio of partner agencies and vendors
  • Manage all elements of the events program including staffing, logistics, operations, schedules, vendors/agencies, and production
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with regional sales and marketing counterparts, the corporate events team, technology partners, and other business stakeholders
  • Ensure on-brand presence at events and manage relationships and cost negotiation with booth contractors, suppliers and vendors
  • Plan and manage in tandem with the Corporate Events team, all tier-1 and -2 trade shows and Genetec-hosted conferences ranging from 20 to 200 attendees
  • Coordinate and plan all elements of a variety of tradtional, hybrid, and virtual/digital event formats including tabletops and trade shows
  • Ensure each event includes a comprehensive leads management strategy and execute related operational procedures to ensure ROI
  • Support conference registration process and pre- and post-event communications
  • Host pre-event planning sessions and post-event follow-up sessions with relevant staeholders in-region and at HQ
  • Ensure that the North American events presence supports the overall regional marketing strategy and goals, and adheres to corporate brand guidelines
  • Order, distribute and manage inventory for promotional items and event materials such as pull-up screens and signage
  • Work together with marketing stakeholders to plan and execute adjacent events programs such as sponsorships and speaking opportunities
  • Coordinate internal attendee lists
  • Frequent on site event support and associated travel will be required


  • 5+ years marketing and/or events management experience
  • Experience with significant budget management and tracking - understanding both the art and science of this practice is essential
  • Strong communication skills; comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all levels of the organization as well as with customers and agencies/contractors
  • Understand how to work both independently and with others to achieve results. Experience with the management of vendor and agency relationships to achieve successful event outcomes
  • Naturally collaborative and enjoys working with varied teams in a matrixed organization
  • Calm and confident demeanour
  • Extremely well organized and detail oriented
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing a multi-faceted portfolio of events
  • True passion for events, marketing, branding, and lead generation. You enjoy creating in-person marketing programs that drive measurable business results
  • Love travelling and being on site at events, as well as working behind the scenes to bring events to fruition
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of CRM, data management, and email marketing/marketing automation tools
  • This position requires a significant travel commitment (>40%), candidate must be able to travel internationally
