As the Concept Designer, you bring to life the visual and tangible articulation of new ideas and business models in order to establish feasibility in a prototype, de-risk their future implementation and validate their potential success. You will collaborate to create prototypes from visualization to pilot, and are instrumental in helping share the innovation success, story and strategy with the business.
As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Creating assets to communicate relevant project and process updates with internal and external stakeholders, such as presentations, journey maps , and workshop exercise assets.
Designing visual assets to translate an idea into a concept that can be reviewed and tested with stakeholders, such as service blueprints, lo-fi wireframes , high-fidelity prototypes, UI mock-ups, lightweight concept prototypes, etc.
Working closely with the research and service design teams to select the best experiment methods to test and validate an idea as well as design all required visual elements for its implementation
Supporting and liaising with technology and delivery teams to determine and record the technical constrains to implement the concept
Creating comprehensive prototypes to support new ideas that deliver value to OMERS members and employees across pensions and the investment business entities .
To succeed in this role, you have:
A university/college degree in Design, UX/UI or visual communications, adjacent or similar education or experience
5+ years of experience in layout and design for visual communications. PowerPoint presentations, print reports, journey maps, storyboards, infographics etc.
5+ years of experience in designing digital products such as websites or apps, or other digital services. Prototypes, wireframes, functional / non-functional requirements, in collaboration with development teams, clients and stakeholders
Exposure to agile working practices, including Scrum, Kanban, or working in sprints
Exposure to human-centered design and innovation frameworks, methodologies, tools, and processes
Strong evidence of experience in web design, graphic design and is up to date on current trends, style and has exceptional design taste
Experience performing user experience research.
Exceptional knowledge of design software including Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite
A critical thinking and entrepreneurial mindset (start-up thinking, problem solver, forward thinking, comfortable dealing with ambiguity)
