Sales Analyst

This position will be responsible for maintaining key sales and financial systems and conduct sales revenue segmentation and analysis. In addition, you will act as the primary resource to all departments on both short-term and long-term projections for the overall business outlook. In this role you will utilize IT systems and manage large datasets to analyze market, economic, light vehicle, commercial truck and off-highway equipment production trends and reports findings.

Performance Expectations

Identifies key automotive industry platform and program volume trends, analyzes data, and interprets the impact on Linamar's business outlook.

Maintains key sales and financial Information systems and serves as the lead sales analyst and reporting liaison.

Conducts sales segmentation analysis across all entities and business units. Correctly identifies industry segments and sub-segments as well as regional sales categories.

Creates sales revenue ?what-if" scenarios and conducts variance analysis compared to current forecast projections.

Provides insight and guidance to sales, finance, IT, and manufacturing departments in the preparation and reporting of key sales figures.

Analyze data and consolidate into meaningful and effective reports and presentations.

Gathering information from a variety of internal and external sources and providing value-added analysis.

Maintains information flow to a variety of stakeholders to provide effective and timely market data.


A university degree in economics, commerce, business administration or public administration or equivalent education and experience

Minimum of one year of market research experience. Automotive / manufacturing experience is preferred.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience using formulas, charts, and pivot tables.

Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.

Microsoft Power BI experience would be considered an asset.

Basic knowledge of automotive engine and transmission architectures and related components.

Basic knowledge of commercial vehicle, Industrial, and off-highway construction industries.

Ability to work independently while also engaging in team initiatives, joining efforts of those in other departments / locations.

Basic knowledge of CRM, forecasting, ERP, and financial systems.

Demonstrated ability to utilize and manage large datasets using analytical tools.

Experience with the following resources would be considered an asset: IHS Market automotive powertrain and vehicle forecast data, Ward's Automotive.
