The Student Affairs Communications unit works with stakeholders across the Division of Student Affairs to promote services and programs that support the academic experience, leadership development, diversity and inclusion, community involvement, health and wellness, and the overall student experience. Reporting to the Senior Digital Communications Advisor, Student Affairs, the Communications Officer, Mobile App position will work with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams, both within Student Affairs and across the university. The ideal candidate will have experience assisting organizations in the development and execution of a mobile engagement strategy through a deep understanding of user experience, accessibility and mobile app trends. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a mobile strategy in partnership with key stakeholders across the university to support student engagement and provide targeted/personalized content.
  • Monitor efficacy reports/engagement metrics and other key benchmarks to make recommendations and establish KPIs.
  • Develop supporting policies, procedures, community/user guidelines, governance plans, and training resources.
  • Manage and moderate the Dal Mobile Student Feed: administrative controls to delete posts, manage profanity filters, and review flagged posts.
  • Create and manage engaging and informative content relevant to the student audience and establish and manage editorial processes, including stakeholder content to be published via Dal Mobile.
  • Note

Occasional work on evenings or weekends may be required. Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in a related discipline (i.e. journalism, public relations, marketing or communications) with at least five years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of training and experience) is required. Exceptional communication skills, including strong writing abilities, highly developed interpersonal, project management and leadership skills. Demonstrable experience leading and managing digital communications, content management systems, social media management, and mobile applications. Experience with UX design considered a strong asset. Given the fast pace at which the mobile app world moves, the incumbent should be passionate about emerging mobile trends. Job Competencies
